Battle Mage Secrets: Healed Out - End It Fast

Prelude
Hi all, hope all is well for you and it is time for another Battle Mage Secrets. Last week, we looked at a ruleset that requires a pure attack type lineup which essentially makes it a very streamlined lineup that can be formed. Today, we look at a ruleset that prevents prolonged battles and survivability.

Ruleset Spotlight

Healed Out

Description:
All healing abilities are removed including healing abilities given by summoners.

Healing abilities include Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage.

What thrives with this ruleset?
As the description mentioned, there will be no more field medics available, no more crazy Kron, Quora long haul battles where they just keep healing themselves. No longer can we also use a Taunt card at the end of the lineup and use Triage to keep it alive. All these have been shut down within this ruleset.

Because there is no longer any form of healing available, there won't be any matches that will be dragged long and alternative protection becomes vital here.

When you have no heal, the next best thing you can get is armour. Armour can be buffed by summoners or through cards that carry Protect ability which gives additional 2 armour to the whole lineup. While that 2 additional armour might not look to be alot, every bit of protection helps to keep your lineup from being knocked out in one hit. So when there is armour, Repair comes in handy so that the armour that had been smashed will get refreshed. On the offense spectrum, if you can have Rust, it helps bring you advantage to your side so that your hits land directly on the card without the armour.

Otherwise, the key will be go in fast and hard, boost your attack through cards like Inspire which adds 1 melee damage. Otherwise anything that makes you attack faster or attack more will help. While we do not have Triage, Taunt is actually not too bad because we will be able to divert the attack to another card while the rest concentrate on doing damage. So Taunt is a rather essential one here.

Stats wise, nothing special, the more the merrier. Health, attack, speed, armour all are welcome.

Prediction before pressing rumble
A very formidable water lineup with heavy front of armour and also Disintegrator to reduce my attack. Thankfully I had Thane Newsong to compensate back the melee attack. My Terracrous Hulk should be able to sustain a bit of damage before going down.

Let's battle!

Battle Synopsis

Round 1, A good exchange and blast start flying everywhere. Katrelba successfully take out Kulu Swimhuter. Kinjo did a lot to keep the blast in check and away from the backline cards.

Round 2, Both side suffered casualties with Terraceous Hulk falling on my side while I took out the Supply Runner. Due to blast, mode of the cards are all dangerous low on health.

Round 3, Board wipe in progress, opponent Diemonshark cleared mine while I cleared his using my 2 double strikers. Next turn will steamroll through the last standing Deeplurker!

Round 4, At the start of the round, Katrelba just disposed off Deeplurker and secured the victory!

Post Battle Summary
Due to blast, the match even accelerated faster than usual. I think my lineup really had elements to take care of most aspects and help bring victory to the match. Quite frankly opponent put up a good fight as well.

Did my strategy work? Yes, it went according to what I planned for. Every card in it did their individual role. Double strike sneakers contributed to the damage, Thane gave the attack boost, Terraceous Hulk soak up alot of punishment and definitely Kinjo for blocking all that blast that come through the lineup.

What's the Battle Mage Secret?

For today, the Battle Mage Secret is quite simply to kill your opponent fast. The double sneakers with double strike were my main attackers and did alot of punishment. For me, when there is no healing, that is the sign to end things fast. Double strikers and really good in the event of armour. One attack can shed the armour then the other can kill off the card. The harder we hit, the faster we can win. For this particular match, due to the blast, I had to pull off a big meat shield with Taunt that is cushioned by Venator Kinjo. Otherwise, stick to the big hitters with double strike, they really do good before opponent can retaliate.

Do keep some Protection if you know you cannot outspeed your opponent, otherwise if speed is not a concern, you will kill them before they do.
