The Chaos Legionnaires are ruthless warriors and the Chaos Legion's elite fighting force. Alvar Veralyn was conscripted into their ranks at a young age after his family was slain and his world conquered by the Chaos Legion. The harsh conditioning that all conscripts receive nearly broke the child, but in the end, his old, easy way of life was subsumed by the desire for battle and conquest. Alvar dedicated himself to his training, intent on reshaping his mind and his body until he had no equal on the battlefield. Eventually, he rose to the rank of General and now stands as leader of the Chaos Legionnaires.

Alvar is a most imposing sight on the battlefield. His armor is imbued to withstand the strongest of magical attacks, and even the mightiest of foes is no match for his massive, two-handed sword, which some say was forged in the Realm of Nightmare. He lives for battle, wading through his enemies and striking them down as he seeks out the strongest among them to engage in single combat. He enjoys nothing more than watching the life fade from his opponent's eyes. His conquests are legendary even among the Legionnaires, and he earned the title of Godkiller after the Battle of Dargnilat, during which he single-handedly defeated one of the Old Gods.

The Stats of Legionnaire Alvar

Legionnaire Alvar is a legendary melee attack neutral card from Chaos Legion. He has 8 Void Armor from level one. This creature is very good against the magic attack monsters, because his Void Armor will work as normal against magic attack damage as well.

He will receive more abilities from level to level. His abilities are Giant Killer, Demoralize and Deathblow.

His speed only two, which is a bit slow, therefore we need to be careful against a faster monster, because he could miss his target easily.

Void Armor : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.

Giant Killer : Does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana.

Demoralize : Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters. -1 to melee attack, it cannot be less than 1.

Deathblow : This Monster does 2x damage if their target is the only Monster left on the enemy team.

My Team

	Quix the Devious is a four mana cost summoner within the Dragon Splinter. He will reduce one ranged attack and one speed from all of the enemy creatures.
	Legionnaire Alvar is a nine mana cost legendary melee attack card with the Void Armor ability from level one. I used him as a tank in this battle. He is a neutral creature, therefore we can put him in every color team except where the ruleset will ban all the neutral cards.
	The Twillight Basilisk is a rare melee attack Dragon with Reach and Stun abilities. He is able to attack the enemy tank from the second position and he has a 50% chance to use his Stun abiity. When he hit his target with Stun, the target will pass the next round. His mana cost only four, therefore we can use him in Mini League or other low mana ruleset as well.
	The Dragon Jumper is a seven mana cost melee attack monster with Flying and Opportunity ability on level one. He is very fast and he could kill the creature with the lowest health in the enemy backline, who are usually healer or another support monsters.
	The Uraeus is an epic melee attack monster with Sneak ability. He will get the Poison ability on level four, which makes him very dangerous to the enemy backline.
	The Scorch Fiend is a legendary creature with zero mana cost. I used him in the last place in my backline. He can take few attacks from the opponent sneaker monsters.

The Battle Rulesets

Ferocity: All Monsters have the Fury ability.
Lost Magic: Monsters with magic attack may not be used in the battles.

This is low mana ruleset and only red color and Dragons can play.

The Battle

The ruleset allowed the Fire and Dragon Splinters, therefore I choseed the Dragon Summoner with mixed team. Quix the Devious will reduce one ranged attack and one speed from all enemy monsters and the magic attack monster are banned by the ruleset.

I used Legionnaire Alvar as a tank, because he has useful abilities against the red team. His Void Armor was not necessary in this ruleset, but the Giant Killer and Demoralize are very good.

My opponent brought full Fire team with Uraeus and summoner Conqueror Jacek. Jacek gives 2 speed, Scattershot and Armor Piercing to all of his friendly creatures.

My Summoner will decrease one speed and one ranged attack from him and my Legionnaire Alvar will reduce one melee attack from all of his monsters.

Legionnaire Alvar and the Twillight Basilisk are able to attack the enemy tank, because the Twillight Basilisk would attack from the second position with his Stun ability.

The opportunity Dragon Jumper and sneaker Uraeus with his Poison ability are very fast and they will attack the opponent backline.

My strategy was to counter my opponent Fire team using Legionnaire Alvar and Quix abilities. That was partly succesful, because my opponent was to fast and my backline was very damaged from his monsters. Luckily they missed some attacks against my Dragon Jumper who survived the battle with my Twillight Basilisk and Legionnaire Alvar. 👍

Do you like Legionnaire Alvar? Why or why not?

Yes, that card is not bad. He has a good armor and stats with very useful abilities. His advantages are his neutral color, Void Armor, Giant Killer and Demoralize abilities. He is an excellent tank against the Fire cards (Fire Splinter has the slowest tanks) or Reverse Speed ruleset.

His disadvantages is his speed, which is only two, that is not the best compare against Diamonshark, Unicorn Mustang or other fast tank monsters.
