After a few minutes of searching for the battle in my notes, I finally found one which was worth the time for the others to read about. This was in one of the tournaments hosted by "Splinterlands" where we would use Modern cards.

Recently, I've been competing in these tournaments that have these sets of rules that I find irritating as they change how we would use monsters in the deck. The battle I'm about to present has 3 rules that changed the way we would see the battle.

Below are the major events in the battle and at the end of the post is the battle link.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle

The mana cap was a huge sum of 52. There were 3 summoners to choose from: Water, Nature, and Life.
I wanted to use the one attack that would reach the most amount of monsters while maintaining my HP. That would require me a healer and a good one at that. Remembering that I had a Golblin for that hefty task, I went for Nature's Summoner: Obsidian.

My Team

Tank: Myycelic Infantry(Ability: Shield).
Attackers: Mycelic Slipspawn(Ability: Taunt), Fungus Funger(Ability: Martyr), Magi Of Chaos, Goblic Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying).

My strategy was: to get everyone who was not in the first position to attack my Slipspawn as it was a tank and get blast damage and get my Fungus to die early. This way the martyr effect would kick in and increase the overall magic damage of the Slipspawn and Magi Of Chaos. I wanted to place my Goblin but then the thought crossed my mind, "Why send my healer to go forward if the Ultimate damage output and healing output would be the same if I get the other mage?". So, I placed the Magi of Chaos near the Fungus and my Regal Peryton in the back. Since the Peryton had the Flying ability it should be able to dodge some of the attacks, further delaying that explosive damage.

Opponent's Team

Summoner: Ilthain(Abilities: Return Fire, +1 Speed).
Tank: Drybone Barbarian(Ability: Enrage).
Attackers: Corsair Bosun(Ability: Reach, Reflection Shield), Dumacke Exile(Ability: Sneak).
Blocked Attacker: Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralize).
Magic Caster: Djinn Revova(Ability: Strengthen).
Ranged Attacker: War Pegasus(Ability: Shatter, Flying).

The rules of the battle: Aim true, Weak Magic, Explosive Weaponry.

Round 1

Screenshot (391).png

The summoner abilities were implemented and the battle was on! As you can see, the number of turns was 33 making it a huge 1st round.

Screenshot (392).png

My Mycelic Infantry went first, dealing a reduced yet good damage of 2.

Screenshot (393).png

The Dumacke swooped in and god a piece of my Slipspawn while also dealing a blast damage.

Screenshot (395).png

The Magic Caster came in and did a favor by damaging my Slipspawn for which the Fungus lost its last HP. The martyr effect was in order and the Slipspawn and Magi of Chaos gained an HP and damage and speed.

Screenshot (396).png

The Corsair Bosun goes next, the blast radius reached the Slipspawn and the damage registered by the Infantry was only 2.

Screenshot (397).png

Before my Slipspawn came to dust it managed a hit on the Drybone, reducing the HP from 9 to 5. The one to deliver the final blow was the War Pegasus.

Round 2

Screenshot (399).png

At the start of the second round, my Peryton strikes first.

Screenshot (402).png

The Infantry got hit by everyone except for the Disintegrator and the blast effect was poured onto the Magi of Chaos.

Screenshot (404).png

Both the Infantry and Magi were on their last HP but the Goblin healed the tank and did damage on the tank. The blast effect fell on their magic caster.

Round 3

Screenshot (406).png

At The start of the 3rd round, my Peryton goes first once again dealing damage of 2 and kicking out their tank and magic caster together.

Screenshot (407).png

Since the Pegasus was a ranged attacker, its attacking days were over. The only attacker left was the Dumacke. It went straight for the Peryton and does a damage of 2.

Screenshot (409).png

The Goblin Psychic was hit by the blast. In its turn, it heals the tank further and does a damage of 3 to the War pegasus and causes damage of 2 through the blast effect on Dumacke.

My Mycelic Infantry and Magi of Chaos did their parts and reduced the HP of Dumacke before it got itself in the first position.

Round 4

Screenshot (410).png

At the start of the 4th round, my Peryton goes first and eliminated the Dumacke.

Screenshot (411).png

The blast damage takes away the shield on the Disintegrator and the Magi deals a hefty damage of 4.

Screenshot (412).png

At the end of the 4th round, the Goblin Psychic heals the tank for the last time and dealt the finishing blow.

Honestly, this round was something I didn't expect to win and I clearly remember that as soon as I had seen the latent abilities of the opposition together with the added ones I clicked skip. I looked at the winner status and was shocked to see my name on it XD. The only thing in my mind was, "How the hell did that happen? I only used normal cards while the guy paid for the cards he had!". Later I checked the battle and stored it in my notes and completely forgot about it. Glad I found it on time!
