Change in Rental Strategy because of SPS

I am a big-time fan of the splinterlands game and I am bullish on the Splintershards (SPS) token. This is a governance token and I expect that this will grow significantly in the future and can reach $1 someday. There is a big change in the game recently and now we can earn SPS instead of Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) in the game. It was announced sometime back but now its finally implemented. I had stopped playing the battles last season and this was helping me to earn over 3k DEC daily. It means I can earn approx 100k DEC in a month and I think that this is a good amount. Although some players are lucky in the game and they even earn this much DEC as a reward but I have never been the one. DEC is good but not better than SPS so I am going to change my strategy for this season.

There is no such fixed strategy and I think its good to keep on changing as per the need or to make the rewarding experience better. I am also going to do the same and will see how the new reward system works for me. There is a catch here that I did not play the battles last season and because of that my ranking is almost zero so I will have to play hard to reach the level.

SPS replaced DEC

DEC is a kind of stable token in the game that is supposed to be at the price of 1000 DEC with 1 USD. Sadly this has not happened for long and all this was started after the SPS airdrop. There was an increased demand for DEC as it was increasing the points higher so the daily SPS reward was also increased. At that time 1000 SPS price was way higher than 1 USD and now its the other way round.
Now finally the DEC is not part of the reward mechanism and we can earn SPS tokens. This is good in my opinion but we still can not ignore the value of DEC because the use case of DEC has not been changed yet. There is an option to get DEC by SPS conversion and I expect that this way DEC will reach back to its range peg.

Strategy for this season

I have canceled my cards from renting and will get all the cards back to my account within 2 days. This is a cool-down period and once this is over then I will be able to play like before. I will try to play more battles so that I can reach a higher league soon and I know that this is not going to be easy. Its ok because I have a plan in place to manage this situation. So I am going to play more this season to cover the gap and let's see how fast I am able to reach there.

Recent proposal

Now splinterlands have started proposals and only SPS stakeholders will get the option to vote. I am happy that I am part of the governance and I did vote to support this. Its a good change and this is why I supported it. 85% of the community has supported this proposal so its passed anyway and this is the real power of SPS. The governance token brings some additional benefits and this is one of them. This way now power is given to the community and this is really a great way where any changes that the team wants to have will be implemented only if the community supports it.

I have not been able to add more SPS this week and I admit that after the airdrop, my SPS goal is going slow. This is just a phase and my goal remains the same which is 100k. Sooner or later I will give more action on this and if there is a good opportunity then surely I will not miss it at all.

It will be so hard for me not to play and rent all my cards unless maybe am tied up with an offline job or something otherwise am so addicted to the game I enjoy playing.

I am happy that I am part of the governance and I did vote to support this.

This reminded me of my blogs about why 1 SPS is 1 SPS and forget about the dollar value if we wanna be decision-makers in DAO. Not even in the stock market majority of investors have a voice and here shareholders' opinions matter. I am ok with staked-based voting. I understand this might bring some bad changes if those who have more SPS make the wrong decisions but we are in this together. More shares and more power are logically fine by me.

I expect that this will grow significantly in the future and can reach $1 someday.

I also felt connected to finding out we think alike on this one. Yup, we are not blind moon boys the maths and tokenomics make sense. I am waiting for rift watchers to analyze the impacts on prices of SPS, vouchers, dec, and all others including SVC and cartel (vouchers and SPS connection).

renting all cards is not for me because I lose the fun and I don't want to do this. Now I am struggling to increase my league to diamond and will do it soon for sure.

well said that even if we buy a big chunk of shared then also we have no voice and this is the beauty of governance in crypto where we get the power to say yes or no.

SPS is my favourite token and I am trying to make it 100k by end of this year. I am not going to touch whatever I deposit and want to enjoy the APR that it earns for me.
