Splinterlands is driving huge expansion of ACTIVE Hive Users

I've read a number of posts about the huge increase in new Hive accounts recently, driven by the massive growth of Splinterlands.

Over 8500 new accounts yesterday and over 50,000 new accounts in a week.

See https://peakd.com/hive-133987/@penguinpablo/daily-hive-stats-report-tuesday-august-24-2021.

This is approaching the record weekly high of 53,269 new accounts for this blockchain which was in late Jan 2018, just before Facebook banned cryptocurrency ads and killed the @jerrybanfield campaign that was driving huge amounts of new users onto our chain.

I know these numbers because they are part of my & @jpbliberty's Crypto Class Action against Facebook and Google for their illegal anti-competitive cartel conduct in banning crypto ads.

@taskmaster4450 has written about how each of these new Splinterlands players gets a new Hive account which is their own asset and protects them from deplatforming.

I was just having a look at posts in the Splintertalk community and noticed the huge number of posts.

Screen Shot 2021-08-24 at 10.48.04.png

A few months ago there was barely a couple of posts a day. Now there must be at least one hundred.

This is showing that new Splinterlands players are discovering Hive and using it at first to post about Splinterlands but likely will gradually discover the rest of what Hive has to offer.

This is not surprising as posters earn SPT tokens (as well as HIVE) from upvotes on Splinterlands related posts and those SPT tokens in turn earn SPS tokens in the SPS Airdrop.

Splinterlands is not just driving lots of transactions on the Hive blockchain (thus driving up resource credit (RC) costs and increasing demand for HIVE) , it is bringing immense numbers of new users to HIVE as well.

Many other people are seeing the success of Splinterlands and how amazing the Hive blockchain is as a platform for both the game itself and its community, and will be following suit.

Hive is also revolutionising the world of Podcasting via @brianoflondon's @podping and Value4Value services including Hive <--> Sats gateway at https://lnd.v4v.app/.

All these things and many more are going to drive even more large scale organic growth in Hive and make Hive the Number 1 platform for Web 3.0.

Its a battle test for HIVE - the more, the better. It may not be far, when RC will be in great demand and there would be some business model around that.

Hive Power is going to be in great demand. This we can already see. As more people get involved with what is taking place, we are going to see a massive increase in the need for RCs.

One of the business models is going to be buy Hive, power up, and lease out RCs.

It's a great start to see Hive getting some large numbers of new users.

This will lead to more activity and more publicity which is great for the long term future of the system. Hopefully other apps will see the success and decide to build here as well to further grow this momentum.

It all builds. We are going to see how much things explode when we have a couple more applications mirroring what @splinterlands is doing.

There is a lot taking place right now. The great thing is we have a blockchain that can handle the increase in volume.

When I returned to Hive, I ignored posts about SplinterLands for a while, just not understanding what it was. a week ago I tried to play ... it's fucking addictive :) Someone comes there through the Hive, someone in pursuit of ways to get cryptocurrencies in an easy way, against the background of market growth.

Let it grow, let it grow
Let it blossom, let it flow

Hive is lovely, let it grow (c) Lorax

Less addictive when you lose battle after battle.

But get a few wins in a row and the battle button keeps getting pushed.

Yes, I do like to win. But I’ve even become OK with losing because it’s part of the challenge.

There truly is a lot going on right now to sink our teeth into. It is great seeing up approaching new weekly highs. Based upon the first day of signups, we could top it this week.

What @brianoflondon is doing is overlooked right now. He is immersing himself with big players in podcasting and is inserting Hive right into the middle of it.

I hope that Hive can become the default platform for commenting on podcasting. Imagine what that would do.

I love just watching my witness log output and seeing the higher average transactions per block.

I think this is only going to continue to grow, even more so if splinterlands can get there next card set out or the land expansion.

Splinterlands is just the beginning of things being built that will drive traffic into Hive. 3Spk, HAF, ProjectBlank....all coming this year and each potentially adding a massive influx of new users. Could get crazy around here...

hive has always been very good as a system, despite "the community"'s interference
I'm glad it's getting exposure

In my Splinterlands Guild we do not have a monthly DEC requirement but we DO require our guild-members get involved with the HIVE platform. HIVE is such an 'under-the-radar' blockchain that solves tons of problems that other chains have. The key naming conventions alone on HIVE are better than ETH which requires a paid service to turn your key 'Human Readable'.

I'm new to Hive and loving it. I did use to post on Steem way back but I gave up cause every single post was just "How to make money by using Steem".

I'm glad the sites have moved away from that and people are actually posting more diverse content.

I try to diversify my content to see what works and what doesn't. So far travel seems to be the most lucrative post but I'll keep posting about anything that interests me.

I feel bad for the curators of the Splinterlands community. They have their work cut out for them that’s for sure! It’s awesome though, I think I’ll buy a few thousand SPT tokens so I can help curate some of the content and help some new folks out! I’ve been helping my newer guild mates get into and start posting on hive and it’s been really good. They feel empowered and it’s their first blogging experience so they are taking to it well. Doesn’t hurt that they get a few votes that are worth .10-.20¢, I remember when I started out on Steem I didn’t get that for weeks lol
