Meeting Chanseus The Great

Let me start this post with Chanseus The Great. Chanseus is a legendary summoner that I very rarely meet in my league (Silver) before. Until now, I have only met him twice. This Life Summoner can:

  • restore the shield of the friendly monster whose shield has taken the most damage at each round
  • heal the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage at each round
  • resurrect one friendly monster after it dies.

Sweet eh? When you're the one summoning him, but not when you are battling against him.

Tyrus Paladium vs Chanseus The Great

I was on a Life Quest and among my Life Summoners, I prefer to use Tyrus Paladium. Tyrus Paladium gives all friendly monsters +1 shield. Mana cost permitting, I complete the line up with Armorsmith and Divine Healer.

Rule Set

Mana Cap: 30

Rules: Rise of the Commons

So I was ready to add defense to my lineup by using Armorsmith and Divine Healer...

The Line Up

... but then, it was too late when I noticed that I submitted my team without Armorsmith.

Good thing, I have used some very reliable back line support:

Front: Shieldbearer

Damage: 2
Shield: 4
Health: 9
Speed: 2

My favorite second line is Luminous Eagle because of its reach ability and high damage (3).

At the back, I have Lone Boatman with 2 range damage and our featured monster this week, Cave Slug.

Lone Boatman has Snipe ability which targets the monsters with range, magic, or no attack that is not at the first position.

Cave Slug, on the other hand, has the opportunity ability that lets it attack from any position and target the enemy with lowest health.

Let's get ready to rumble! Image captured from battle: Splinterlands

Line up looking good?

Well I definitely hope so. Considering that my opponent has used used Chain Spinner as his front monster and placed Shield Bearer on third position where he cannot attack. His only support monster was the Battling Ram with only 1 damage. Whew! I think I stand a chance.

I tried to record the battle for your viewing pleasure. LOL.

Cave Slug

In southern Khymeria, near the Crystalline Harbor, there is a dank place known as Baluthar's Deep. There are stories of ancient treasures buried there in the darkness, but the most that treasure hunters typically find is a slew of hideous cave monstrosities. One of the most well-known is the Cave Slug, which hides in plain sight and devours victims quite quickly.

I have to admit, I very rarely use the Cave Slug in battles. After this battle though, I was so pleased with it and even bought a few more cards to up it to Level 2.

Level 2 Cave Slug has 2 damage melee attacks, 5 health, 1 speed and the opportunity ability.

It provided a great back line support in the particular battle described above and I really think that it is worth using this in the battles yet to come.

I love cave slug! It’s one of my favorite cards on my life lineup. I’ve got it at level 4 I think and I want to upgrade it to level 5 but it gains a speed. It’s a great card to have for the slow goes first battles. What level is your summoner for life? I would highly recommend getting your lone boatman up to level 4 I think, it’s got the repair ability as well! Armor smith and lone boatman together really make the battle very easy in a lot of cases!

My Tyrus Paladium is level 3. Mother Kala is Level 2.I've got to save up to upgrade my Lone Boatman. Hmm. But that sounds like a good idea. Thanks!

What a battle, man!
You certainly had a fantastic lineup there and your opponent had quite a nice strategy as well.
Keep on battling.
