Gargoya Devil (COMMON Death Monster).
This devil reminded me about some devils of the famous movie I, Frankenstein where there were some flying devils and I don't remember their appearance clearly but I think they are similar to this devil of splinterlands. They're normally living stone creatures and that's a match with those devils I was talking about. The Gargoya Devils of splinterlands are still stone but they're now alive and you should understand how dangerous they can be by seeing their horror appearance. And like Beatrix Ironhand of the earth splinter; its specialty lies in its "Close Range" ability that unlocks at the first level and that ability allows it to attack from the first position even after being a ranged attacker.
A Brief Info About The Battle
The battle mana cap was 21 with the "Standard" rule where I've used the death splinter and my opponent also used the death splinter against me.
My Lineup.
I had Haunted Spirit in level 1, Furious Chicken in level 1, Gargoya Devil in level 1, Darkest Mage in level 1 & Twisted Jester in level 1.
And my opponent had his/her cards as Nightmare in level 1, Haunted Spirit in level 1, Skeleton Assassin in level 1 & Undead Priest in level 1.
Let me talk about monsters that I used in this battle.
No 01: HAUNTED SPIRIT (RARE Death Monster)
This is the melee attacker of death splinter which I use in every battle that I play with death splinter if it's available for that battle. One of the finest monsters of death splinter. I like its power, especially its "Heal" ability.
My HAUNTED SPIRIT is in level 1 with 2 melee attacks, 2 speed, 7 health with the "Heal" ability, and this monster need 5 mana to play.

No 02: Furious Chicken (Rare Neutral Monster)
This is the card that I use when there's a slot left but no mana left. I mean its service is great for free I suppose. Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg. It provides great support with its counterattack. With 0 mana... it's just amazing.
My Furious Chicken is in level 1 with 1 speed, 1 health and It needs 0 mana to play.

Nor 04: DARKEST MAGE (EPIC Death Monster)
This seems the Doctor Strange of splinterlands.
I'm very very thankful to Gerber as he delegated me a Darkest Mage in level 6 and then I started using it and got to know its nice features although I'm using this monster in level 1 right now which I own myself.
This magician is so cool that I wish to play every battle with him/her.
My Darkest Mage is in level 1 with 1 magic attack, 2 speed & health and it needs ONLY 2 mana.

No 05: TWISTED JESTER (RARE Death Monster)
It's one of my favorite monsters in splinterlands. I'm a big fan of this card from the beginning of my splinterlands journey so I don't need to check on its ability. Twisted Jester is a good fit for the match for its special abilities and high attack, speed, health. I like that clown a lot. He doesn't talk but he bites, so be careful.
I've used TWISTED JESTER in level 1 with 2 ranged attacks, 3 speed, 4 health with "Snipe" ability and it needs 4 mana to play.

For the special buff of my summoner, 1 melee monster of my opponent lost 1 melee attack, and for the special buff of my opponent's summoner, one of my monsters lost 1 melee attack. Then for the special "Weaken" ability of my opponent's Undead Priest, 4 of my monsters lost 1 health each.

Then... for being the most speed holder, my opponent's Nightmare started the battle with the first attack and killed 1 health of my Haunted Spirit with the starting shot and also grilled my chicken with the "Blast" ability. Then the opponent's Skeleton Assassin attacked and killed 1 health of my Twisted Jester. Then after my Twisted Jester attacked and killed 2 health of the opponent's Undead Priest, then my Darkest Mage, Gargoya Devil & Haunted Spirit one after another attacked and killed a total of 4 health of the opponent's Nightmare and my Haunted Spirit healed itself with 1 health in the meantime.

There came a new round and the opponent's Nightmare attacked my Haunted Spirit again and killed 1 health and destroyed the shield of my Gargoya Devil as well with the "Blast" ability. Then the opponent's Skeleton Assassin attacked and killed 1 more health of my Twisted Jester. Then my Twisted Jester threw the ranged attack towards the opponent's Undead Priest and the opponent monster had to leave the battlefield for good, and all my monsters got back the lost health that they lost for the "Weaken" ability of the opponent's Undead Priest. Then my Darkest Mage, Gargoya Devil & Haunted Spirit one after another attacked and killed a total of 4 health of the opponent's Nightmare and my Haunted Spirit healed itself with 1 health again in the meantime.

There came another new round and the opponent's Nightmare got to do the same thing once more and killed 1 health of my Haunted Spirit with the melee and 1 more health of my Gargoya Devil with the "Blast" ability. Then my Twisted Jester attacked and killed the opponent's Nightmare for good and the opponent's Haunted Spirit then came forward to the first position. Then first, my Darkest Mage and Gargoya Devil attacked and killed 3 health of the opponent's Haunted Spirit, my Haunted Spirit then healed itself with 1 health first and then attacked and killed 1 more health of the opponent's Haunted Spirit. Then the opponent's Haunted Spirit healed itself with 2 health and then attacked and killed 1 health of my Haunted Spirit. There came another new round where the opponent's Skeleton Assassin first attacked and killed my Twisted Jester for good. Then my Darkest Mage and Gargoya Devil one after another attacked and killed 3 health of the opponent's Haunted Spirit and the opponent's Haunted Spirit then healed itself with 2 health. Then my Haunted Spirit healed itself with 2 health and then attacked and killed 1 health of the opponent's Haunted Spirit.

There came another new round and the opponent's Skeleton Assassin first attacked and killed 1 health of my Darkest Mage. Then first, my Darkest Mage and Gargoya Devil attacked and killed the last 3 health of the opponent's Haunted Spirit and the opponent monster had to leave the battlefield and the opponent's Skeleton Assassin then came forward to the first position. My Haunted Spirit then attacked and killed 1 health of the opponent's Skeleton Assassin. There came the last round and the opponent's Skeleton Assassin attacked and killed 1 health of my Haunted Spirit first. Then my Darkest Mage attacked and killed the last opponent monster for good.
The battle finished in round 6 while my team had 3 monsters alive. All my monsters did great on the battlefield except the chicken did nothing.

GARGOYA DEVIL is a valuable range monster worth having in a lineup, fortunately it's a Neutral monster.
