Intro

First battle challenge in the gold league. I feel like i don't belong here YET. My summoners are all (chaos) now on level 4 (max silver). Not all the cards are equipped for max silver let alone in gold.
I upgraded towards gold and try my luck, with the gold chests.

This week the portal spinner is the star of the week. I don't use him often because mainly the scattershot is very unpredictable. With the explosive weaponry rule set it might be a good setup, but i like more the predictable battles. So good opportunity to test the skills of the scattershot.

Stats

I just got mine on level 4. Maxed for Silver therefor it gets an +1 damage/health and an extra shield.

Strategy

Close ranged is in favor for General Sloan. Life has some slow monsters, i.m.o. fire is a slower splinter, so that is a great possibility to encounter. So expect opportunity and shields and sneak.
Life is there not the best option but with the scatter shot and the extra damage of general sloan it is worth to give it a try.

Rulesets

Close Ranged
Range attackers my also fire from the first position. This combines nicely with General Sloan if your tank in the front dies and you only left with ranged attackers they still can attack.

Reverse Speed
Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

The Lineup

	In previous battle posts i mentioned it was my least favorite summoner. I must say i'm getting more familiar with him and also i leveled him up. Now I see its potentials and using it more often.

Monsters Lineup

Shieldbearer (lvl 1):
With the taunt a good choice to control the beginning of the battle. Monsters must attack him first so the portal spinner and venari crystelsmith are saved for the first (hopefully few) round(s).

Soul Fiend (lvl 1):
Meat shield to protect my venari crystelsmith.

Venari Crystelsmith (lvl 4):
Try to heal the Shieldbearer as much as possible.

Pelacor Arbalest (lvl 3):
My damage dealer 6 damage in combination with general sloan so still 4 damage when a shield monster is in the front

Portal Spinner (lvl 4):
The star of the week. I expect a shield mosnter in the front so something that is able to hit the monsters that are behind the first position is great. It will involve some luck because of the scattershot.

Rounds

Start :

As expected a shield monster in the front. A similar setup i often play. Let see if life is able to break it.

Round 1:

Good start battle controlled, healer did her job. Scattershot landed on the first position, not planned but still 2 damage, toughed it was -1 damage but the damage is halved 😌. Funny to see my Pelacor Arbalest missed his attack even tough it only a 10% change to miss.

Round 2:

Shieldbearer died. Scattershot landed on the less important monster on the field the Scavo Chemist. Good to see the close range in action this way the Venari Crystelsmith kills Radiated Brute.

Round 3:

Because op the reverse speed most of my monster may hit first. Tenyii Striker hits the shield of my *Portal Spinner doing his thing in the back. And the *Portal Spinner may hit and kill the last monster and takes the win of this battle.

Conclusion

Strategy worked!
Guessed which summoner my opponent will choose right this time.
Nice to see the scattershot, would have been even nicer when there was a explosive weaponry rule set.
