Brawl Battles

Focus on this week's share your battle weekly challenge is on guild battles and how to effectively use gladiator cards. One of the best things to take advantage of during guild brawls is the bloodlust ability of the gladius deck summons. Let's look at a few of my battles below:

Now let's begin the brawl analysis

Brawl 1 Life vs Dragon

The ruleset for this battle is melee mayhem and reverse speed. I went for the life splinter to get +1 ranged attack, this is useful for my pelacor arbalest. And because melee monsters can attack from any position I chose the shieldbraker as my tank to direct all damage to it. I have the disintegrator acting as off tank and to reduce incoming melee damage. Captain Katie will be my gladiator from the gladius deck. Venari Crystalsmith will be my main support card. And Lastly Time mage to reduce enemy speed.
The opponents lineup is shieldbraker, void dragon, scavo hireling to complement with his dragon summoner drake of arnak, chaos dragon which has high hp and magic damage, pelacor arbalest but won't have bonus damage unlike mine. And tower griffin to complete his lineup.

Brawl 1 Round 1

Towards the end of the first round gave me a bit of an advantage as my captain katie was able to take out opposing tank. What helped here is that all my damage is focused on the first position. Due to the bloodlust ability taking the shieldbreaker out gave an additional 1 magic damage. This would be useful because without the taunt ability of the shieldbreaker, my captain katie can is free to use it's snipe ability. My tank sits at a high of 9 hp as it is still healed by venari crystalsmith. The chaos dragon targets randomly because of scatter shot and was able to damage my disintegrator.

Brawl 1 Round 2

In the middle of the second round, Captain Catie sniped and eliminated the scavo hireling, it gave another bloodlust boost pumping up to 5 magic damage and 8 health. I'm up 6 monsters to 4.

Towards the end of the secound round. I was able to cut down my enemy lineup to half. The damage burst of the pelacor arbalest due to it's double strike ability ensured me high frontline damage. The only threat now in this lineup is the Chaos Dragon as it still has high hp and deals a lot of magical damage.

Brawl 1 Round 3

The end of the third round gave gave my captain catie another bloodlust boost. It now has 6 damage with 9 HP. It was able to take and snipe back the pelacor arbalest which is a huge blow to the enemies lineup. The time mage helps me a lot in dealing with the chaos dragon, instead of having 3 speed its down to 2 because of the slow ability.

Brawl 1 Round 4 to 5

In the fourth round, my opponent is left with one monster in his lineup. My captain catie killed the tower griffin earlier and is now so strong with 7 magic damage and 10hp. There's no way the opponent could win. and this enemy will be eliminated in the next round.

Brawl 2 Fire vs Fire

The ruleset for this battle is reverse speed. Only dragon and fire splinter is available for use. It was obvious that that fire would be the best choice due to it's summoner Tarsa's attack boost and health bonus.
When using Fire my first choice is to create space for chimney wallstop, the challenge here is that I would alot of mana pool just for 1 card. I know I would be up against fire lineup as well. This leaves me with low cost splinters to complete my lineup. My choice of tank is the low mana cost antoid pool with shield ability. The chimeny wallstop acts as off tank and can attack from second position due to reach ability, third is the goblin fireballer, the low speed is useful in this battle. Serpentine spy is always part of my selection, uraeus is the fifth card to attack enemy backlines and lastly lava spider for it's high hp and absorb some sneak attacks.
The opponent lineup is composed hard hitting backline damage sneak attacks. First of living lava, then radiated brute, elven cutthroat, serpentine spy, kobold miner, and tenyii striker.

Brawl 2 Round 1

I was only able to kill 1 monster on the first round. The elven cutthroat was taken out by my serpentine spy. But i've lost my first position tank, andoid platoon, i also lost my backline protection lava spider. I am relying heavily on my chimney wall stop to carry me in this match.

Brawl 2 Round 2

I have a slight disadvantage ending the second round. Uraeus was taken out by the kobold miner and tenyii striker. My serpentine spy took out the same enemy card but is now exposed in the back lines and won't survive long. My chimney wallstop is now exposed without armor and is now down to just 5 health.

Brawl 2 Round 3

Third round starts with my chimney wallstop attacking first, the reverse speed is going according to my favor. And due to this first strike the living lava is already taken out. This kill also gives a bloodlust pump, the melleee damage is now 7, 1 health was also gained and 1 armor as well. This sequence puts me on even footing with the enemy.

Brawl 2 Round 4

I lost the serpentine spy from the previous round. But in the opening if the second round, The chimney wallstop attacked first and killed the radiated brute in one go. I am now at an advantage and the opponents strongest card tenyii striker will still attack the backlines where my goblin fireballer would prevent damage to the first position.

Brawl 2 Round 5

Chimney wallstop attacked first and killer the kobold miner. I no longer have the goblin fireballer and it doesn't really matter. At this moment, my gladiator already has 9 attack with 1 armor and gained hp again moving it to 8. Enemy no longer has a chance of winning this one and i will proceed to claiming the victory.
