No Scale can prevent this Doctor from saving a Dragon

Some battles are won by having a strong attacking set of monsters, while other times, you just have to survive an onslaught. In this battle, I combined both attack and strong defensive covering by my Scale Doctor to achieve victory.

Edition: UNTAMED
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: DRAGON
ATTACK: RANGED
ABILITIES: Strengthen at level 1; Triage at level 2; Rust at level 3; Repair at level 4

The Battle

Link to battle

The battle was fought on all fronts by both players. It is worth noting that it was fundamentally a mismatch, seeing as that most of my opponent's monsters were actually superior to mine. I believe the determining factor was having an ample number of healers and of course that serpentine mystic.

The Summoner

Delwyn has been my primary Dargon summoner for the longest time. In this battle, it was still in level 6 but I recently upgraded it to level 7, thus giving me the best parameters of all my other monsters.

I used it in this battle for pretty much the same reason I always use it; it boosts magic and offers the best parameters of my monsters.

The Tank

Lord Arianthus has been my go-to tank when all else fails. I recently started using Chain Golem regularly but Lord Arianthus is always available for situations where Mana cap is a problem.

Lord A is a pretty awesome absorber of hits and when combined with a healer as I did, it tends to be a little bit of a thorn in the sides of opponents.

The Poisonous Assassin

This poisonous assassin has grown into one of my favourite monsters in the game. First of all, it looks really cool and secondly, at level 5, it drops a little poisonous surprise for the opponent. It's like the big brother of Skeleton Assassin,

Sneaky Magic

I got Shin Lo on loan and I actually never thought I'd be using it for battle. I actually added it to my deck to boost my collection power but alas, it found itself in my team and turned out to be a key player in achieving this victory. Actually, every monster was a star player in their own right.

I placed it here because I didn't want to lose this magical sneak user from the beginning of the battle. Luckily for me, no Blast monster and everything worked out in my favour

Thanks Doc

This week's main event and one of the latest additions to my Arsenal, we have the scale doctor. To be completely honest, I added this monster to my deck simply because of the Share your battle challenge and I had barely seen it in action.

At first glance, I figured it was a "luxury card" because of the small attack it offered but after employing it in this battle, I sort of appreciated it a bit more. At level 2, it offers Triage to the team and that was very essential in keeping my long term in the battle as it healed both the Serpentine Mystic and granny healer.

Granny Healer

Granny is a staple in my team and at level 3, she just crossed the line to add magic hits to the game. However, her endearing quality isn't her combat prowess but her healing.

She is the reason why Lord Arianthus could sustain so long in battle and gave me more time to do some damage during the battle.

Healer Stopper

Last but certainly not the least, we have this little guy witch the sole responsibility of cutting off healing of the opponent's tank. Players will naturally use a sturdy monster up front, because, well, you want to last longer in battle. So I figured cutting off any chance of healing the monster will increase my chance of breaching and invariably get damaged on the backline.

It worked out

Yup, it worked out but that's not solely because of any single entity, but more about the fact that the team worked perfectly. A "perfect" Splinterlands team can oust even superior cards and in this battle, you can see it in motion.

If I could do something different, I'd have liked to have a monster with thorns, ranged and plague at the back, but alas, that's wishful thinking. Cornealus comes close but it doesn't have plague.

Anyways, I won the battle and I'm happy. Thanks to this week's featured monster, I also added a monster that I otherwise would never have considered in my deck. That's a small victory, and I'll take it.
