MY 15 WIN STREAK

image.png

Hello friends, how are you? I hope so.

In today's post I will share with you a goal that I recently completed in Splinterlands when I managed to complete a sequence of 15 wins in a row.

I will share how I achieved this goal, which element I used, which cards were the most in my deck, and what were the difficulties and the learnings.

I will also share my view on the use of goals and objectives as a form of motivation.

And here we go.

image.png

Initially I would like to say that I believe that the adoption of goals and objectives, even if set individually by each one of us, do the game more objective, fun, and dynamic.

This practice helps us to have the perception and the notion that we are evolving in the game, even if gradually, and it is possible to provoke a higher level of motivation when reaching the goals that were previously set, when they even seemed far away.

You can set a goal, for example, to play 20, 30 or more games in a row, to play 10 games per hour, or a set quantity according to your intention.

The objectives, on the other hand, can be varied and based on a certain characteristic of the game, and can be understood as almost a "quest", for example: win 10, 15, 20 or more games in a row, reach a certain rating level, manage to collect a number of Dark energy Crystal, reach the silver league, etc.

But we must be careful to set realistic goals, otherwise setting almost impossible goals, i.e. time consuming goals, can have the opposite effect of discouraging you, for example: you should not, being in bronze league, set a goal of joining the Champion league, or, at the beginning of the game, set a goal of collecting 100,000 CED.

It is obvious that this is even a long-term result, but it must be achieved in stages, setting, in my opinion, realistic and achievable goals from the development of skills and strategies that will help in a complete way in the game itself.

In reality this is a lesson that I try to adopt in various aspects of my life, of course in many subjects I don't have the opportunity to do so, but it is very stimulating to set small goals when learning something new.

You can even, if you are very creative, set some reward for achieving a certain goal, offering such as incentive to yourself.

Now let's talk specifically about how I recently achieved my first 15-game winning streak.

As I have already said in other posts my favorite team in the bronze league is, without a doubt, the team formed with the Earth element cards and, in particular, with the summoner Mylor Crowling.

I don't have Mylor Crowling yet, so I usually rent him on the market, and it is possible to find him with the rental price of 20 Dark energy Crystal per day, which is not high since with such a card you can win several battles and win a much larger number of Dark Energy Crystal.

Mylor's great aid in battles is that the summoner grants all his cards the "thorns" ability, which causes his monster, when attacked by melee damage to reflect damage to the enemy monster that attacked him, which makes a big difference, because in addition to the normal attack that his monster makes each round, he deals damage to other melee enemies that eventually attack him in the round, so I used him in all 15 battles.

In addition to Mylor I rented two more cards on the market that helped me a lot in battles, these being:

)

Wood Nymph

This is a card that, in my opinion, is essentially a support card, because its magic damage and speed don't do much to damage my enemies' monsters every round.

I did not use Wood Nymph in all battles, only in those with higher mana cap, giving preference to other damage cards when it was not possible to put it into battle.

The great thing about Wood Nymph is undoubtedly its standard "tank heal" ability, which recovers with each roung a portion of the life of the card in first position.

Thus, this ability in conjunction with a high life tank makes your monsters very resilient.

Minotaur Warlord

This Minotaur has 10 life, which makes it very resistant, 4 melee attack, which is quite high for most other cards with this amount of life, and even more 3 speed, which makes it incredible.

Besides that it has by default the ability "magic Reflect", and when attacked by magic damage, it causes a reduced magic damage reflex to the enemy monster that attacked it.

Thus, in conjunction with the thorns ability granted by the summoner Mylor, the Minotaur will deal reflex damage to any enemy that deals melee or magic damage to it, and most monsters that deal magic damage do not have the same amount of life as the Minotaur, so they will be defeated just by attacking the Minotaur.

Below I put individually the link, my cards and those of my opponent, and my summarized view of each of the fifteen battles:

Battle 01:

image.png

As you can see, only the Twisted Jester has range attack, all the others are melee or magic, which caused the Minotaur Warlord to reflect a lot of damage to them, all the rest of my team was defeated in the first and second round, and the Minotaur defeated the rest of the enemy team by himself.

Battle 02:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_569483ec7d9b8aec234666b8e893b054&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

Another fire team, this battle I changed the team a little as a result of the characteristics of my opponent's last battles, the stone golem with its ability to reduce the enemies' damage made the difference.

Battle 03:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_62137ac785ad940051c7989dafa95b8a&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

I chose to go back with Minotaur Warlord, all five of my opponent's damage cards were melee and succumbed easily to the Thorns ability granted by summoner Mylor, in this battle I put Earth Elemental in a wrong position.

Battle 04:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_b56f5981ea65b4b5f291117d57213bfe&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

A battle with high mana cap and my opponent had used the water team in most of his last battles, so the probability of using it again and with it magic damage was high, so I decided to use the failed summoner in the first position to receive some attacks and reflect damage to whoever attacked him with magic damage, which didn't happen since he succumbed with the damage done by the Water elemental and serpent of eld.

The Minotaur Warlod dealt great reflex damage to the magicians and the Unicorn Mustang, with its magic damage reduction, ended the battle.

Battle 05:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_7ff0ab820a95d3754fed9d75251c3719&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

Small mana cap battle, I put Failed Summoner in front to withstand some attacks and do reflex damage with Thorns, most of my opponent's monsters were melee damage and succumbed only by such an ability.

Battle 06:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_dd1859a4a9727f84eed9559abc01baa5&ref=bernardinetti

image.png
A slightly more complicated battle, because although three of its four damage cards were melee attack cards, the life team has a lot of armor, but none of the opposing monsters attacked my Wood Nymph until the third round, so it helped the Minotaur Warlord take more damage, which was not defeated in the whole battle.

Battle 07:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_1f8cfb56e9a2255e22436b66de707c10&ref=bernardinetti

image.png
In this battle the opposing monsters were unable to defeat Minotaur Warlod who, with the help of Wood Nymph, withstood all the attacks and made the difference with his reflex damage.

Battle 08:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_1a921b42551b97e65ef50e4535f35fd3&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

As I believed in the possibility of facing a water team with a lot of magic damage again, I put the Failed Summoner in the first position, and the opponent had no chance with Wood Nymph+Minotaur Warlord.

Battle 09:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_49426e19bda296dfebb9aae06d109b96&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

I put the Failed Summoner in first position again, and this time I used the orc sergeant in third, which could attack in second position with its reach ability right after the Failed Summoner left the game, which happened in round 2.
Since none of the opposing monsters attacked my Wood Nymph only the Failed Summoner was defeated.

Battle 10:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_bbb537254ae49289e3e5c9667158a70e&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

The Failed Summoner was defeated early on by the Water Elemental and the Serpent of Eld, then the Minotaur Warlord defeated the Ice Pixie and Enchanted Pixie team with his reflex damage and the Serpent of Eld with his attack and Throns, the Water Elemental went to the first position, but he does not attack from that position.

Battle 11:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_25ed2d7a8bf30b70da3fe7b399df4d8b&ref=bernardinetti

image.png
It was almost a repeat of the previous battle, but this time I had the Orc Sergeant and my opponent had albatross (which didn't make much difference), and the battle developed in the same way as the previous one.

Battle 12:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_16686337d49463063c6404deef74c13b&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

Life team that, as always, has a lot of armor, but all the damage cards were melee, which helped me a lot, it was a difficult battle that I won only thanks to Wood Nymph and especially Mylor Crowling.

Battle 13:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_e48e7273b25a29fdf15f55c0f7feebcd&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

First Earth team of this battle sequence, the difference in this battle was without a doubt the summoner used by me and my opponent, only my failed summoner was defeated.

Battle 14:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_02d3ab7dc2a81647580f45d07c17a074&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

As it was a battle with low mana cap I preferred the Stone Golem instead of the Minotaur Warlord.
It was a good choice, because the golem's "Shield" reduced the enemies' attack damage, and after the Cerberus was defeated the Fire Elemental no longer attacked from the first position.

Battle 15:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_8ba1286db4f73cdf5d056a76b7d011ce&ref=bernardinetti

image.png

With a little more mana I returned with the Minotaur Warlord, the enemy's Serpentine Spy was defeated only by the "thorns" skill, the Cerberus succumbed to Thorns and the Minotaur's attack, so in the second round the battle was already set with the Centaur in first position.

image.png

As you can see above, my winning streak was made up of 15 dynamic, diverse battles that required some adaptations throughout the challenge, especially in light of the characteristics of each of my opponents.

Thus, considering the diversity of the teams adopted, and after talking individually about each of the 15 battles, my teams throughout the objective were divided according to the table below, which indicates the formation in each of the battles and, in the right corner, the total number of opportunities in each of the cards used, let's see:

image.png

As I said above the winning sequence was only possible with the combination of the Earth team, its summoner Mylor Crowling, and, above all, with the Minotaur Warlord, used in the vast majority of the battles.

We can notice that the Minotaur participated in 13 of the 15 battles, and it was only not used in the battles with low mana cap, having been replaced in such battles by the Stone Golem, which has a lower mana cost.

There is no doubt that the Earth team, combined with the cards I rented, gave me great abilities to defeat the enemies, and it is currently my favorite team, and I am sure that I would not have concluded this objective with any other element, because it does not have as much experience and knowledge in other elements as I have with Earth.

Being able to conclude 15 victories in a row certainly raised my motivation level, because with this I realized my evolution in the game by being able to adapt my team according to the characteristics of the battle and, even, with the last teams used by my opponents in their last battles.

Now what I can say is that I must go on to new challenges, and I have even set as my next goal to win 20 battles in a row, but this is a subject for a future post that I will write as soon as I finish this challenge. 😆
