Hello dear fellow Splinterlands players, how are you? I hope so.

Once again I'm here for another post about this amazing Splinterlands semnal battle event.

Let's talk about the card of the week, its characteristics and the battle in which I used it.

And here we go.

This week's theme is "WOOD NYMPH".

This week's theme card is a common magical creature of the earth element, whose main characteristic is certainly that of support.

It has a mana cost of 4 points, but with low stats for such a cost, being only 1 point of attack, 1 point of speed and 2 points of life.

It is certainly not a resistant card, but its great advantage is its standard ability "Tank Heal", through which it restores part of the life of the monster that is in the first position on the battlefield.

From level 6 Wood Nymph also learns the ability "Strengthen" with which it increases the life points of all friendly monsters, making it certainly a very useful and powerful card at that level.

So with these characteristics WOOD NYMPH is a versatile card to be used to increase even more the resistance of the team's tank, this being its main use.

My current battle status is 1,470 rating and I'm in the "Silver III" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:

image.png

The opponent, in his last battles, used the death team three times, and the earth team the other two times.

So, considering that the death team was blocked in the battle, there was a high probability that the team chosen by the opponent would be the earth team, just as I was going to do.

The mana limit for the battle was 24, which is an average amount, and two rules were applied in the battle, these being "Aim True", whereby melee and ranged attacks were not the target, and "Broken Arrows", making it impossible for ranged creatures to participate in the battle.

The opponent, in his last battles, used mixed teams, so it was not possible to measure which team he would use.

So, to participate in the weekly challenge I set up my team as follows:

  • Mylor: As earth summoner
  • Failed Summoner: To receive the first attacks of the opposing team, and thereby reflect damage, either by his standard skill or by the Thorns skill granted by Mylor
  • Unicorn Mustang: For its high amount of life and its Void skill reducing magic damage taken
  • Venari Scout: for his "Opportunity" skill
  • Wood Nymph: For Heal and for participating in the challenge and
  • Goblin Thief: For his Sneak skill.

So the battle begins.

Round 1:

The opponent, as expected, came to the battle with an earth team composed of Unicorn Mustang, Regal Peryton, Goblin Psychic and Mycelic Morphoid.

The battle started as expected, that is, with my Failed Summoner being attacked and defeated by the opponent's Regal Peryton and Unicorn Mustang, but reflecting damage to both.

Next my Unicorn Mustang attacked the opposing Unicorn Mustang and the Venari Scout attacked the Mycelic Morphoid, who was subsequently also attacked and defeated by my Goblin Thief.

Goblin Psychic then healed the opposing Unicorn Mustang and attacked my Unicorn Mustang, and in the end Wood Nymph healed my Unicorn Mustang and attacked the opposing Unicorn Mustang, but did no damage to this one.

Round 2:

The second round began with the same dynamic, but this time without the Failed Summoner, and my Unicorn Mustang took its turn against the attacks of Regal Peryton and the opponent's Unicorn Mustang, later attacking the opponent's Unicorn Mustang.

In the sequel Goblin Thief and Venari Scout attacked and defeated the opponent Goblin Psychic.

At the end Wood Nymph healed my Unicorn Mustang and attacked the opposing Unicorn Mustang.

The battle was well on its way to a probable victory for me.

Round 3:

In the third round Regal Peryton attacked my Unicorn Mustang who, right away, attacked and fought back the opposing Unicorn Mustang.

It's a 4 on 1 battle now, with all my creatures having attacked Regal Peryton reducing his life to only 1.

Round 4:

In round 4 there was nothing to be done, just wait for my victory, which indeed occurred.

Well friends, as you could see it was a quiet battle with a great victory against a team of the same element chosen by my team.

I have to confess that the victory was due, in great part, to the correctness of the probable team to be chosen by my opponent, which facilitated the choice of creatures that luckily helped me a lot.

Anyway Wood Nymph is certainly a good card, which I have used a lot in my battles with the earth element and will continue to use, being part of one of my favorite cards of this element.

Thank you for reading.
