Investing Options For Splinterlands Play2Own

Splinterlands very well the largest and most popular Play2Own or Play2Earn game in the crypto industry offers much more than just playing.

What makes Splinterlands so huge and awesome is the various aspects of the game which allow many people go get involved.

The Players

You have players who enjoy the game for what it is. Building decks, fighting with friends, testing out strategies and sharing in on the fun on stream etc.

Think about all of the money that is spent on games like Hearthstone which nets over 40 million dollars in revenue each month! Players don't see a dime of this, they also don't own their cards or assets and could have their accounts closed down for any reason. This is why I feel these play2own style games will increase in value as they expand into huge player bases.

Guilds and Clans

There are huge guilds and clans that buy up assets and then delegate them out to their players or help their players build their assets and value. While the guild or clan takes income from these players based on their skills and value they also provide that person with other benefits.

These guilds and clans often buy up huge assets for their players allowing them to play with the higher end cards and compete in huge battles vs other clans. The income potential here is huge and Splinterlands offers up tournaments along with customized tournaments which opens up huge possibilities for the future in this area.

Investors

and the one I'll be focusing in on for this article is investors that invest in assets of the game or governance tokens and build revenue through these more passive means from the game.

Ways Investors Can Take Part In Splinterlands

If you're a big hitter investor it might very well be worth reach out to the Splinterlands team directly however if not there are great ways that you can get involved.

Option 1: Build rentable assets

Building assets such as high end cards are a great way to boost the value of your holdings. These cards could be rented out and earn you passive income in the form of DEC in game currency which attempts to be pegged at $0.001 per each. At the moment rental incomes are pretty low however later when land is released these card assets might ever well become more valuable as summoners and monsters will be locked up in lands to "mine them" which brings me to lands.

It's unknown at the time if you can rent out your land for others to work on however if this does become a thing then land rentals could become a popular options as well. Land is going to hold a rather critical role in the upcoming releases of Splinterlands and most likely go into effect early 2023. You could also mine the lands yourself and sell off or craft higher end resources that can be sold to others creating yet another form of passive income.

Option 2: Governance

Governance allows you to vote on aspects of the game and shape the future of it. The more Governance you hold the more you can push a vote in your favor. The governance token of Splinterlands is called SPS or Splintershards and can be found on Hive, Binance and Ethereum. Powering these SPS tokens up allow you to hold weight in upcoming proposals for the game. These powered up SPS tokens also earn you a APR rate of more SPS tokens and what is known as Vouchers which are used for various in game asset buys and can be sold on the secondary market.

Option 3: Provide Liquidity

Liquidity is a big issue in the world today. By providing liquidity you're helping make it easier for others to transfer funds in and out while collecting some growth assets for youself. These liquidity providers can be found under SPS > Pools in game. The range from Hive with DEC, SPS and Vouchers to BUSD, BNB, WETH and DAI. There is also some external markets such as CubDeFi under Kingdoms (currently at 53% APY) and PolyCub under Farms currently earning 30% APY) are also great possible options to get on board with.

There you have it all the ways to start investing into Splinterlands if you wanted to jump on board. Remember this article is not financial advise and is only for entertainment. Do your own research before investing and understand the risks.

how much land do you have? If you don't mind my asking.
The amount of passive income you can generate in splinterlands is actully pretty impressive. Rental incomes are back up to increasing in value where it makes it cost effective once again. btw thanks for the tips!

I use Splinterlands also to boost passive income. It had a great value increase and brings with automation, a decent level of passive income. Beside the value gain, with renting, I get somehow of 3% a year in DEC value, with playing, even more.
