Going All In On Modern League

Whats up s'lands?

I'm a recent convert to the world of splinterlands - and similar to a lot origin stories i've read / seen, am a longtime MTG player. Splinterlands encompasses a lot of what I really enjoyed about MTG but removes the frustration of randomness going my way in pulling cards from the deck.

I bought into the game and my first big investment came in the form of 500 packs - saw the first fruit of this bear in the form of a single carnage titan - and am planning on re-upping prior to each subsequent airdrop card in hopes of securing myself as many leg. summoners as possible. Pretty standard entry strategy for most from what I've seen. Where I've taken a bit of a different path is that, despite initially planning to hodl and sell my packs for post-CL sellout, I opted to open them all.

With the impending shift to modern, adjusted reward structures, and additional reward cards all coming in the next couple of months, I wanted to position myself to compete at the highest possible league to make the most of the now. Not to mention the heightened entertainment factor that comes with unlocking new abilities and more fun competition - huge plus.

The bet paid off. I managed to luck out and open packs that paid for themselves and get the bulk of my deck to a gold competitive level. I sold most of my gold foils for cards in splinters I enjoyed most and leveled up the respective summoners first.

With nearly half of the CL packs still on the s'lands market, there's plenty of time - barring a huge catalyst for speeding up sales - to buy back into packs with the sole purpose of eventual resale.

Are ya'll still holding packs for eventual resale? Waiting for the leg. summoners to become available in packs before opening?

Cheers - bjangles
