Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 26th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 26th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

It's been slightly more than a week since the black swan event of the UST-Terra Luna collapse. Crypto markets are generally still depressed, no doubt suffering the ripple effects of such a meltdown. I've had many friends and acquaintances who were wrecked and whilst there's nothing much I can do about it, if you're likewise affected, do know that there's an entire supportive community here for you. What's lost can always be earned again, and setbacks only serve to make us more resilient. 💎🙌🏻

With that being said, last week saw the End of Season upon us again. Having finished in the Diamond League the previous season, I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to do so once again. 💎💎💎

It was all thanks to the rental of a single card though. Almost 300k Collection Power from this level 4 Gold Foil Legendary Hydra 😱. However, whilst I got it at a very good price, it was actually a misclick and I ended up renting too much power. I was only looking to get about 100k in CP and ended up with triple that amount. 💸💸💸

My quest for that elusive Gold Foil Legendary from my rewards chests continues on though 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 (It's a 0.008% chance to pull a legenday gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉). I'll get there some day (i hope).

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

🏆💰🎁Ranked Reward Changes🏆💰🎁

THIS IS HUGE! This is a new phase in Splinterlands and, going forth, will completely change the way we play the game. I won't go into the details, but you can dig into it at this SPLINTERLANDS ANNOUNCEMENT LINK.

Here's a quick summary in point form as quoted from the Splinterlands team though.

• Goal is to ensure Splinterlands economy doesn't favor bots or big players with multiple accounts
  • Team wants to incentivize climbing as high as you can with one account in order to maximize your rewards
• Main Changes:
  • Starter cards will reduce the amount of DEC you earn per battle
    • Prevents DEC farming without actually owning cards
    • Card and rental prices should increase due to more demand
  • Reward values increase drastically as you move up to higher leagues
  • Reward chests are based on the league you finish in for the previous season
• Playing ~30 battles a day will allow you to maximize your rewards
  • Keeps your ECR at a reasonable value
  • Playing more than this will lower your ECR which will greatly reduce your reward shares and DEC rewards
• New changes will also encourage players to play every day and focus on their win rate
  • A large amount of players currently play one or two days and stop at a high rating
  • ECR is reduced every battle, win or lose
  • A higher win rate will maximize rewards vs lower win rate
• Changes will include 12 new Reward Cards added to the reward card pool (See Eye Candy)
• Plan is to release changes for next season (Starts Tuesday, May 31st)
  • Starter card reductions will start before the new season (when the code gets pushed out)

In my opinion, these are all very good changes for the long term future of Splinterlands. It changes the rewards to make it more rewarding to have a high rank and strong deck, instead of the current format, where it is actually more profitable to have multiple decks at Silver 3 rather than a single deck at Gold and above. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We'll also see a massive reduction in cheap bot accounts at the lower levels farming with "free starter cards". The changes will make it such that these accounts will now generate absolutely zero rewards. Of course, the higher level ones can still rent/buy a deck to do so, but at least they'll have to put some money into the economy. 💸💸💸

The changes also reward better players who win more often since rewards shares will be lowered with your ECR and it'll be more beneficial, in terms of maximising your efficiency, in farming reward share points with a chain of wins. 🏆🏆🏆

Weekly Chaos Legion Sales Tracker

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 30k sold since last week. Still not too bad. That is still quite an amazing sales figure! 😄

After the previous week's huge jump in pack sales with the announcement of packs being sold at a flat rate of 4000DEC/pack, I'm quite surprised by the sudden drop off. I've been tracking the sales every week and it has consistently been an average of around 50k packs each week, with last week's sales tripling to 150k. 😱🤑 I guess it'll take a few more weeks to see whether the usual sales pattern holds up and if this week is just a blip.

Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 490k away from the 9 million mark! 😄 Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
