Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 30th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 30th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

The first End of Season for the completely revamped Splinterlands rewards format has finally come and gone this week. I'll have to say that overall, I believe everyone has gotten A LOT MORE End of Season rewards as compared to before. This change has been really good for people who actually own/rent and play, and not bots who spend absolutely nothing at all. So on this aspect, I really must give credit to the Splinterlands team. This was a masterstroke indeed. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥳🥳🥳

I have been trying to compare some rewards settings and configurations, regarding playing in different leagues and opening different chests, with my main and alt accounts. However, considering that I missed most of the first season (yes almost the entire gamechanging first season coincided with my holidays 😢), my results aren't conclusive.

Overall, my End of Season rewards were considered pretty good. It was definitely a win for me. 🤑💰

As the rewards chests show, my MAIN account with GOLD chests definitely beat out my ALT account with SILVER chests. However, I thought that a lot of it is still due to luck. It could easily swing either way due to RNG.

What I do want to track, and intend to do so for this next season, is the amount spent on rentals and the rewards from Daily Focus chests. This will hopefully give me a better gauge of the optimal leagues and chests to farm.

My quest for that elusive Gold Foil Legendary from my rewards chests continues on though 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 (It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉). I'll get there some day (i hope).

The recent bloodbath in the overall crypto market has been brutal. Bitcoin has dropped below the previous cycle's ATH mark of $19511, which is something that has NEVER happened in it's entire 12 year history! All bets are now off as to how low it'll go. HIVE and it's related Layer 2 tokens like SPS and DEC has also been dragged down as such. I've never thought I'd see such prices, but here we are anyway. 📉📉📉🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

My plan is to wait and see, and I'll definitely be taking the opportunity to buy more. I still see a long term future for Bitcoin and also HIVE and Splinterlands. Therefore, I'm willing to buy in this generational dip for the prospects of huge returns in the future. Of course, as with all volatile assets, never put in more than what you're willing to lose 😅, so no worries about me going all degen and selling the shirt off my back to buy the dip. 💎🙌🏻💎🙌🏻💎🙌🏻

As we can see here, 1000 DEC is now only $0.68, but like credits which are valued at 1000 : $1, 4000 DEC is all you need to buy a Chaos Legion pack. This is a huge opportunity to buy packs, which qualify for the upcoming Airdrop Legendary Summoners, at a huge discount! 😱🤑

And what's even better is that in the latest Splinterlands Town Hall, the team has addressed this issue of "depegging" and will stand firm on the pricing. Here's what they said.

• Team isn't going to change anything to force the DEC price to stay at a certain price
  • Team will always value DEC at 1000 DEC for $1 ($0.001)
• If there is massive sell pressure, then CL packs and potions will be that much cheaper
  • DEC is backed by Splinterlands assets
  • As long as the game continues to grow and demand continues for in-game assets, then DEC price should stay relative

It's quite reassuring that the Splinterlands Team is confident in their product, and are determined to ride out this Bear Market. I will definitely have to consider my options and allocate some resources into buying more packs via the DEC discounted route. 🤑🎁

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 64k sold since last week. Still not too bad. That is still quite an amazing sales figure! 😄

The average number of packs sold per week seems to have been going at a faster pace rather than the normal 50k/week. Perhaps people are taking the opportunity to buy in with DEC offering a "discount" on packs.
