Am I Serious About My Guild Brawls? You Bet!

One of the best things about playing Splinterlands is my membership in The Alliance Guild! If you don't belong to a guild and are not participating in the Guild battles you are missing a great part of the Splinterlands game. I have the best Guild brothers and sisters and we have a great time in our chat room discussing battles, strategies, and helping each other out in general.

Our fearless leader, @enginewitty, captains our ship and spends tons of his own time arranging our brawl matches and keeping on top of which buildings to upgrade first. Not to mention contributing a plethora of his own DEC to speed up those upgrades.

If you don't know, Guild Brawls are special. They are only open to Guilds. There are also special cards that can only be used in Brawls. The only way to get these cards is to participate in a Guild Brawl and be awarded Merits for your wins as a team. You can then use those Merits to buy packs of Guild cards. Once you have them, they cannot be sold or delegated - so I'll say it again - the only way to get them is to participate in Guild Brawls. These are the cards I have accumulated so far:

You can see they have a distinctive border and a few surprise abilities as well.

The Brawls have a set of different categories. For instance, some of the brawls can only use Gold Foil cards. Some of the brawls can only use the Untamed and Dice cards. There are also different levels. I was recently assigned an Untamed/Dice Brawl with a level cap of a 3 gold summoner.

Since most of my cards are leveled up to Max, it's difficult knowing what cards are going to be available at a lower level. So I went to work and made a chart of all my available cards and what they would be able to do at that level. Then I put them on my office wall for easy reference when picking my teams.

I used PeakMonsters to sort my cards by splinter then printed them out. Then I wrote in each card's abilities and its mana cost.

It may not be pretty or scientific but it must have helped because I only lost one of my Brawls using my "flashcards". I hate to disappoint the Guild when I don't win my share of battles!
