Newly Upgraded and Ready to Test Drive

I recently upgraded Gargoya Devil to level four and unlocked the Deathblow ability. I was fortunate to take part in a battle shortly after upgrading that took great advantage of Deathblow for the win.

⚔️ Level 4
🔮 3 Range Attack
❤️ 3 Health
🏃‍♂️ 3 Speed
🔧 Flight, Close Range, Deathblow

The living stone creatures known as gargoya are an especially unique result of battle on the other side of the world with the Chaos Legion. Years ago there was a great stone tower, far away from the Splinterlands and taller than any of its buildings. It was the former tower of a conquered lord, empty and protected only by the dozens of magnificent gargoyles that adorned its architecture. When the Chaos Legion first approached from the rift in the stars, great glowing meteors fell from the sky. They crushed the tower to rubble, but the gargoyles were somehow left unscathed. Not only that, but they were now alive; still stone, but alive. They took off as a tribe across the sea to find a new home as their world was essentially destroyed behind them.

Standout Qualities

Close Range, Flight and a healthy range damage have always made Gargoya a favorite of mine for earthquake matches. Deathblow has taken his uses cases to another level for me.

Interesting Synergies

Gargoya is a bit squishy so a hefty amount of cover up front will allow it to get more shots off. As a neutral card there are many synergies, but here are a few I look to often.

Card
Synergy
Big beefy cover in the Fire splinter
Death splinter works well with the Earthquake ruleset

What's Interesting About it?
Here is the promised battle showcasing Deathblow for the win. Even better, it is a win over Llama.

Wrap Up

Gargoya can be a tough sell with low health and costing seven mana. However, in the right rulesets and positioning it is a card worth considering. I am excited to test it out even more now that I have unlocked Deathblow.
