Splinterlands Whispy Woods Challenge

This week's share your battle challenge involves using a card from the earth splinter.

A veteran who looks like one of Kirby's enemies.

Its ability to resist damage is outstanding.

Perhaps one of the most environmentally friendly monsters of the game.

Without further ado let's look into it!

Theme: Earth Elemental

The Earth Elemental is a rare card from the Alpha and Beta edition.

It starts with low speed, low attack but a lot of hitpoints

Its main selling point is its low mana cost of 3 and having 6 hitpoints

This is what makes the Elemental a tank.

At level 4 it gains the Heal ability, which further enhances the Elemental's tanking abilities.

The Elemental can be yours for 0.49$ at the moment.

I believe this is appropriate, this card can prove a massive obstacle to someone's attack. Due to its low mana cost it's great for low mana battles.

Where NOT to use

Due to its low mana cost and low speed the Elemental could be replaced by another card on the same conditions.

On matches where the healing ability can't be used the tanking ability of the Elemental is greatly undermined.

Where to use

  • Matches with low mana cap
  • Target Practice
  • Close Range
  • Equalizer
  • Reverse Speed

For matches with low mana cap the Elemental is a strong asset. Starting at level 3 the Elemental is able to do 2 damage, able to damage cards with shield.

For Target Practice the Elemental can be that card protecting the whole backline only for 3 mana.

While battling with the Equalizer ruleset the Elemental's healing ability can be further enhanced, allowing it to heal even more should another card with more hitpoints arrive on the battlefield.

While battling with close range the elemental can be part of a strong frontline, effectively protecting your lineup from snipers and cards with the blast ability

On Reverse Speed the Elemental can be one of your fastest assets

The Battle

This Battle took place in a ranked game. It involves the ruleset of "Fog of War" and "Heavy Hitters"

For this battle we both brought level 4 earth summoner.

My rival brought Lianna Natura, whereas I brought the GOAT Mylor Crowling

We both brought Elementals. As you can see we both put them on different places though.

My Lineup

  1. Flesh Golem: The Tank. Massive hitpoints and able to heal.

  2. Furious Chicken: The Chicken is always welcome. For Fog of War it's best for to put on second place to protect from opportunity.

  3. Khmer Princess: At level 4 it is able to tank heal. The Flesh Golem is thus able to heal twice.

  4. Screeching Vulture: Great asset for low mana battles, specially those with fog of war.

  5. Halfling Alchemist: Able to halve the attacking power. Great under Fog of war

  6. Earth Elemental: The tree of the week. Able to heal and deal a decent amount of damage.

This was a flawless victory!

Mylor Crowling is simply an amazing summoner. Every single one of my cards has the thorns ability.

Due to the thorns ability my rival ended up losing its vulture. My vulture was thus able to remove my rival's tank healer.

The combination of all my offensive power and thorns was something my rival's golem couldn't handle

My Elemental didn't get to tank. It was able to inflict a lot of damage to my rival's lineup though.

In this battle You can see that the Elemental could also be a great asset for the second position.

Normally I would do this for the target practice ruleset or close range though

See you in the Battlefield!
