Splinterlands Diary: My First Gold Foil Card
Yes, you read that right! The game finally gave me my first gold foil card. I mean, a gold foil card that I actually own and not the ones that I rented.
Not bad for a Bronze league loot chest if I say so myself.
Being my first gold foil card, this card have a great significance for me. It's like a milestone. But more than that it renewed my enthusiasm in the game.
If you read my other articles, you'll knew that I have been receiving nothing but measly Credits in the past few days because the rewards for the Bronze league was nerf by the devs after last season.
Of course I understood the reasoning behind the decision and I actually support it. But it didn't change the fact that my drops had been horrible lately. So much so that I even prefer to get potion rather than 3 - 5 Credits that I have been getting.
Yeah, that's how bad my past rewards were...
So you could probably guessed my excitement and surprise when I get a my first gold foil card. Yes, it's just a common Pelacor Deceiver but what important was that my enthusiasm was stoked once again.
Now that's out of the way let's examine the card in question.
Type: Death
Level: 3
Rarity: Common
Mana Requirement: 5
Melee Damage: 2
Speed: 4
Health: 8
Ability: Fly
For a common card, the Pelacor Deceiver have decent stats especially since it only requires 5 mana. It's far from being the best tank in the Death deck but it could act as a secondary tank. And since it has the Fly ability, it could be useful in battles with the Earthquake rule set. Overall its a nice card that could be used in certain situations.
But the card's greatest value is that it adds 125 CP which is great especially for new players like myself. Moreover, at the current market price, the card could be sold for $4.44 which is not bad. Of course I have no plan of selling the card (yet) and would most likely wait until the price of the card truly appreciated.
That's all for now. Cheers!
That's awesome am glad you got to gold card which should give you some encouragement, I know it can be frustrating if those nice rewards are not coming.
Yes, the past loot chest rewards had been frustrating. Fortunately, I got lucky this time. Thanks for checking my post.
You're most welcome
Getting a card now is a thrill. Especially a Gold. The new rewards aren't as bad as I thought because I'm bound to get a card sooner or later.
