Is Death Elemental the Ultimate team in Splinterlands : (The Battle that made me fall in love with Death)

avatar

There's something about Death that just makes me want to fall in love, seriously I mean that. I think I'm addicted to the Death Elemental Team and I'll show you why in this post or rather, How you can join that both! Death Elemental Rules XD.

Okay, so for Newbies(even though I'm still a newb) you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, you might have a clue but are yet to still fully come on board. My point of illumination in this post is Splinterlands, A play to earn esports card game that is based on Strategic Battles and Trading of Cards which are exactly like real assets, (say, your two-wheeler?). Play-to-Earn is a term used to mean NFT / Crypto games in which you can monetize the time spent playing and(or) having fun,i.e your in-game assets are of real monetary value to you.

This post is just one of many to come, that aids to extinguish the excitement I've been feeling playing Splinterlands, and GOSH, that scary thrill I get whenever I press the BATTLE Button, "Lo I loom into hell's avenue?".

Wanna find out how much fun YOU can have? No one's stopping you, sign up and start playing here.

Now, back to what I was saying. This post has been created to share my ideas on why I think Death Elemental is the ultimate Element(with clean verified data where possible), to also listen to your ideas in context (Are their elements that can really prove Death wrong), and finally, to share a new card idea that I hope to see the splinterlands team implement.

Who else plays the Death team and sits back to relax guaranteed of a win? Or can't stop smiling to yourself at how well you're crushing your enemy? The Death team are masters at this and if you read this post to the end, I'll reveal to you the mind-boggling battle that made me a fan;

Guiding Points;

  • Analysis of Games Played (Stats of all Splinter Elements)

  • Death without consideration for Mana Cap

  • Weakest points In Death (Creative solutions for New Cards)

NOTE: All references to Death Elemental really means the Death Element in Splinterlands (it just sounds better that way) and not really the Monster Death Elemental.

Analysis of Games Played (Stats of other elements compared to Death)

To start off I want to be less Novelty, and more Realistic in my approach, after all, this could be another case of confirmation bias - (In which I seek for observations to prove my theory/impression right, when in fact it mightn't.) Let's give it a go;

Here are the observed facts,

  • I have played roughly 74 Games in total(Total Newb)
  • I have used Death Elemental approx 30 times, Fire Elemental 9 times, Water Elemental 10 times, Magic Elemental 10 times, and Life 15
  • According to the rule of disuse(The more you use, the less you gain) i.e The more I use Death Element, the more failures I should witness with it (Or is it the other way round?)
  • On average I have won 60% of Battles using Death Elemental as opposed to others which is less than say, 20%[Base Point]
  • I think one concrete factor to check for is; Randomness, after all this is more prevalent than we might think
  • This brings me to consider; WIN STREAKS - My highest WIN STREAK record using an Element is 5, All Won with Death Element. I find I can't achieve such a record with other Elements(Example Earth). Sooner or later, I meet an opponent who defeats my Teaming.
  • After all these points - Most Wins with Death, Most Win Streaks with death, Most matches played with death.

We can certify Death's Elemental superiority is Unrivalled;

Death without consideration for Mana Cap

What makes Death Element really special is the utility it brings - satisfaction per use case. In this context, I have absolutely found out that you can use the Death Elemental with almost any Mana count and you're still guaranteed(ish) of a win, this is NOT the case with other Elements. The death team can, I see this almost every time, work flawlessly with the lowest Mana in Splinterlands - Mana Cap 12. You just need to deploy Monster - Haunted Spirit et Twisted Jester. In other words, Are you low on Mana? - Death team 2 saves your ass(with your heart pounding of course), Are you cruising on mana? (Time to go all out, send out a Death team 5 or 6 that gets you cracking up with laughter);

The following battle below proves my point (Just);

Weakest Attribute in Death ( And a Weird but Working Idea Solution)

Ok, hear this - Suddenly, I'm off the [Bronze III League] and I find out something that astounds me (Game Rules Conditions). I've always noticed that insignificant small icon on the battle loading screen, it always seems stable enough with the same message - No special rules for this game message(Huh) until it changed. And well, this crashed my party. Standard game rules in Splinterlands are rules applied randomly to battles that both teams must follow or else bear some consequences. For Example - The Earthquake rule states that - After each battle round( there typically is around 6 -8 battle rounds in a game), Monsters without the flying abilities would be smashed with (- 1) health. This is really bad for Death Element because the major team members I sent out are land animals - In fact, One is a spirit but sadly, still counts as Land.

Therefore during times like this, I'm forced to explore other options searching for victory. The Earthquake has been my first observation of Game Rules in Splinterlands. While not knowing if there are more(I hope so) because this rule tends to give Magic and Water Elements a considerable edge since most Monsters belonging to this group are Monsters with the flying opportunity. It has been great trying to understand the strongest possible formation of Teaming using Magic Attack (since in reality, I'm just getting to know them). Yet another Splinterlands feature that just makes it so Fantastic (It keeps the competitive vibe alive).

Okay, but back to the matter, let me just say that I have a card idea I think the Splinterlands team should really consider (It CAN be considered a Card idea, at the same time as a Card Collection Idea). Being it that such Game Rules apply, and well, there are obviously teams that are favourites (The other day when I received such a Game rule, I was so stunned until the last few seconds Teaming up with Magic, and guess what, my Opponent was Glorius Magic Too), it would be fun, and more challenging for there to be counterintuitive cards representing teams that aren't favourites for certain Game Rules condition. And of course, you still need a solid strategy to win every time. This is my Instance, a very weird one at that;

Considering the Earthquake Game Rule, what if we can have a Death Card(I'm not campaigning for only Death, xD) that on sensing the Earthquake Tremor several seconds before it erupts, this Card has the ability to shoot UP into the air(Out of Fright), stay for a few seconds(obviously so it isn't hit with an earthquake), and on dropping back down shoots direct poison at ONE Monster of the Opponent's team( depending on their health, kills or just hurts them). This kind of ability would create some balance and Elemental Variety, regardless of Game Rules. Please note that my idea for this Card Monster was a crazy Racoon(These days people don't really care for the science behind your idea, as long as it works.)

On this note, I end this fantastic post about how the Death Element is currently the most Ultimate Battle Teaming in Splinterlands. Do you agree or not? Share your ideas in the comments?. And thanks for reading!
