A few days ago we had some great news regarding the new reward updates of the game, which will be executed this May, practically in about 11 days or so, taking into account that the update will run on May 31. Also, we noticed a lot of news, but one that I really liked was the new ability that will enter with new cards of the bounty edition, so, let me tell you, this is really great and puts even more strategy to the game in general, since this counteracts great abilities that are currently somewhat complicated to stop, at least defensively spoken.

In that sense, in this opportunity, I will analyze in detail the new ability that will enter the game very soon, which is called "Reflect Shield", its name is very peculiar and already gives us clear clues of its operation and the role that these powerful cards will have in the game and in the strategy that we decide to use to face the usual complicated abilities such as; "Blast, Thorns and Magic Reflect ". There is still not much information about the cards as such and the types of attacks, so, making combinations will not be possible in this post, so it will be as a kind of more detailed introduction about "Reflect Shield".

Without further ado, let's begin…

First I must comment that this is a purely defensive ability, so, taking this into account, the ability of "Reflex Shield" makes the card that possesses it becomes completely immune to the types of attacks that arise based on the reflection or indirectly, this means that, if our opponent attacks us or intends to hurt us with skills such as: Blast, Return Fire, Thorns, Backfire and/or Magic Reflect he will not succeed, since the cards with the "Reflex Shield" will be protected from receiving any kind of damage.

Now, if we put into perspective that, the ability really protects us from abilities that are widely used in "Splinterlands" and that many of them win important battles, in my opinion the strategy and the way of playing as we know it will change at least a little bit, of course, I am not referring to the gameplay itself, but the strategies used to finish a game in the fastest way and with adjacent damage redirected by all the cards with the help of "Yodin Zaku" for example, will have the most complicated battle, since "Reflex Shield" changes things and becomes immune to these cards, giving the opportunity to destroy from the weakest link, to the strongest, as long as we manage to make a good formation.

So that new users can know which are the cards with the abilities (Blast, Return Fire, Thorns, Backfire and Magic Reflect); next, I will share images of them:

Blast
Return Fire
Thorns
Backfire
Magic Reflect

Clicking on each skill will take you to the cards that have those skills.

I do not know yet for sure which cards will have the ability and what kind of attacks they will have, but, if we can know, at least which cards can stop or at least try to diminish the power of them on the battlefield, so, based on this premise, I will describe the 3 most significant summoners for the "Reflex Shield" to face them, Again I clarify that I will not be able to share combinations, since the cards have not been released yet, so I have not tested them, but detailing the most vulnerable summoners against the ability, is a way to start.

Yodin Zaku

This is the first summoner that I will detail and in my opinion is the most dangerous of all, since its abilities are really problematic in many rules and areas of the battle, in addition, the combination of skills that gives all your team is really good. On the one hand, all cards on the field side of the "Yodin Zaku" get the dangerous "Blast" ability, on the other hand, it increases health and ranged attack by +1 point, which undoubtedly turns this team into a total offensive machine.

However, the Yodin Zaku could finally have some problems and although it clearly has opponents that can face it, the ability "Reflex Shield" will help even more to be able to stop the overwhelming power that this summoner causes every time it reaches the battlefield, since, if it receives adjacent damage due to "Blast", of course, it will be immune, so it would be free of damage to attack in a more comfortable and protected way without worrying about the hassle that "Blast" would normally mean for any card.

gif sp.gif

Mylor Crowling

For me this is the second most dangerous summoner, since, in most of the battles we will face, we must place at least one monster with "Melee" attack, so, in one way or another, we will always get damage from the ability provided by "Mylor Crowling" which is the famous and ancient "Thorns", which causes direct damage of -2 points to the cards that attack in a frontal way, that is to say with "melee", in addition, although these are protected with "Shield", equally "Mylor Crowling" is an imminent danger, so, it is a complicated ability, but that, it can be handled much better than "Blast", at least in my opinion.

The best of all is that, thanks to "Reflex Shield", "Thorns" will not have much power, so it can match any card that has "Thorns" as an ability, being immune to be able to attack without mishaps and without the fear of leaving the field, for the simple task of attacking, since it will not get any damage. This is a complicated ability, but it can also be worked well to avoid falling into Mylor's trap, so now, "Reflex Shield" is added to complicate things even more, the game is balanced correctly and although "Mylor can give an important advantage, there is always a counterpart and now we will have "Reflex Shield".

Owster Rotwell

This is the third and last summoner that will have more problems against cards that have the "Reflection Shield" ability, the reason is very obvious, since this summoner gives all the monsters on his side of the field the ability called "Magic Reflect", which reflects the magical attacks returning the same to its origin. I must clarify that, although I have put him as 3rd, it does not mean that we have the game secured with a "Reflect Shield" ability, since, the magic attacks go directly to the opponent's life points and although this may be immune to the attacks that are reflected, they can still receive direct damage, but, the important thing is that we can at least reduce the impact and this gives a chance to win.

With a gap such as "Immunity" to avoid the reflecting attacks, there is an advantage of being able to take advantage of it to attack our opponent without fear that our magic attacks will be rejected, however, we still do not know if one of the cards that will have the new defensive ability, will have a type of magic attack, which would be very interesting if it does, but we must wait for these cards to be released along with the new updates of the rewards to be able to devise combinations that are even more effective against "Owster Rotwell".

This new ability has enchanted me, it was really necessary to be able to face directly some of the most complicated abilities in the whole game, as in the case of "Blast and Thorns" and without suffering damage in the attempt. As I commented in the course of this post, I still don't know the cards that will have "Reflex Shield" nor its attack types, but once they come out and more information is available, I will be able to make another publication, but this time with real tested combinations, so that new users, can know how to use it correctly.
