Weekly Challenge! SILENT SHA-VI!

This week's battle challenge is the Silent Sha-vi.

Lets start by examining the card.

The Silent Sha-vi is a common five mana melee cards for the death splinter from chaos legion. It's sneak card with three damage, five health (equal to it's mana cost), and four speed. The Silent Sha-vi get crippler at level six and pierce at level ten. Making it a great sneak card at early levels which just gets better as it is maxed out.
Level One Silent Sha-vi
Level Six Silent Sha-vi
Level Ten Silent Sha-vi

RulesetExplanation
OverallThis is a great card to include in any death team except for in the Fog of War and Reverse Speed rule sets. Usually I call out specific rulesets but overall I can't think of a set of ruleset where it would preform better than others. It's equally useful in all rulesets except the two above where it is available. Be careful using it in spreading fury if it is the only sneak card you are using. If the sneak damage isn't enough to kill the target it will enrage and you may not be able to hit it again and / or you'll make that card faster and possibly do more damage.

Battle

For this battle I will be showcasing a fire team with sneak monster as I didn't get a death focus before I made this post. I thought I had save a battle where I used it in a tournament but I copied the wrong battle and by the time I noticed it was no longer in my battle history.

This a forty mana battle with rise of commons with all splinter except water and dragon. As this was my focus for this day I rented Plado for my fire team. With Water out I know the biggest threat would be earth or life both with strong taunting cards and healers so my plan was to use sneak to be able to kill their back line as fast as possible killing the support cards as soon as I was through the tank.

The line up I have here this battle:

  • Molten Ogre 12 health tank with demoralize if I ran up against other melee cards.
  • Fineas Rage to work on the front card with my Molten Ogre.
  • Then my sneak / opportunity cards in Tenyii Striker, Kolbold Miner, and Serpentine Spy.
  • My back card was Prismatic Energy this was for it's high health encase there were sneak cards on my opponents side.
    Link to the Battle

My opponent's setup

  • Unicorn Mustang as their tank, Regal Peryton , Goblin Psychic, Supply Runner, Failed Summoner, and Mycelic Slipspawn in the back as the tuant.

Round One

  • I make short work of the slipspawn and almost kill the unicorn it had one health before psyhic healed him.
  • My opponent also made short work of my Ogre
    Round One

Round Two

  • Here I make short work over everything but the Peryton and Psychic.
  • My opponent kills my Fineas Rage.
    Round Two

Round Three

  • I kill the Psychic and miss on the Peryton.
  • My opponent hits my Striker with the Peryton but the Psychic is dead before it can attack.
    Round Three

Round Four

  • The Peryton kills my striker but I was able to finish it off with my Spy's attack though at this point I had one.
    Round Four

Conclusion

My overall strategy worked well though if my opponent had put Peryton in the back where the failed summoner was and put the summoner up front it wouldn't have made a different because of the Prismatic Energy in back with two damage and the spell reflect.
