Since I cover the the town hall and the news each week, I'm going to start calling this series "Weekly Splinterlands Info". I was going to call it weekly Splinterlands news but that sounded too official and I didn't want people to get the wrong idea.

I'm going to try and do more images as time goes on but it took me a bit to figure out how to do the image I did but each one will go a bit quicker. I was planning on getting this out a day or two earlier but I've was playing with images for two days!!!

Weekly Splinterlands Info

Airdrop Ended

While normally I would start with the town hall this week but all roads end and start with the airdrop. If you missed it Aggy, Matt, and Hardpoint did a count down to the airdrop ending on YouTube the video can be found here.
Aggy Matt Hardpoint Countdown to Airdrop
There was a lot of the overall thought process in behind Aggy and Matt used to come up with the airdrop and why it was disturbed over a year verse normal means of it being airdropped the first day to everyone that was here then. I'm glad they decided to do it over a year as "proof of time" this allowed me to get in on the last 3 month or so of the airdrop.

With the airdrop ended the amount of printed SPS a month will drop by about 27% once all the new SPS rewards come on line this include SPS in brawls and rank rewards. This means for the time being there is a lot less SPS going out. Also most of the SPS distribution will move from being handed out to needing to invest in LP or win rank or brawl battles.

One thing we did find out from the stream is rank reward SPS will start staked. To unstake SPS take a month and you get 25% every 7 days. This mean you will need to start budgeting your DEC and / or SPS. If you have staked SPS now keep staking but we get close to SPS being put into Rank Rewards you'll want to start an unstaking process so you have currency to play. How much SPS will you need on hand? Well right now this will depend on how much you rent and how much you earn. Personally I have keep 10 SPS liquid in my account up to this point and I will be moving to 50 liquid SPS, this is primarily so I can join tournaments when they come out and I don't forget instead of having to wait for tournament payouts to join the next one or set of tournaments. We'll discus more of this once we get more details and a date for when SPS will replace DEC in the rank rewards.

With the end of the Airdrop the SPS page got a revamp.
New SPS Page
This is the first iteration of the page, sometime probably next week we should get the ability to claim SPS from the new LP rewards that went into effect at noon the same day the airdrop ended. The crew over at PeakD put up a replacement for their airdrop page also. You can get to this page by clicking on your account at the to right and then clicking the "SPS & DEC Rewards" link. The page include the LP reward pools and their current APRs. I believe they said it was updated hourly. If you are interested in these reward pool it will let you know which has the highest APR for you to put you assets.

SPS Utility

Matt called the Airdrop the distribution phase of SPS, where they give out SPS token to everyone here at the beginning overall just for being present. You earned more for the more assets you bought and held but overall you just had to be here during the 365 days of the airdrop to get SPS. Now we will be moving on from that. SPS in LP pools is proof of assets and time and SPS in brawls and rank battle is proof of all 3 , assets, time, and skill.

This means the distribution phase ends, Splinterlands will start to add more utility for SPS one of the first will be Riftwatchers but we did get some alpha drop that Splinterlands has partnered with companies to start developing sister games that will use the SPS token also. They also hinted at airdrop for these sister games for staked SPS holders.

As the days, weeks, and months roll along I expect we'll hear more and more about SPS utility. With distribution cut by about 27% and the liquidity pools pulling more out of circulation SPS should start to see a lot less sell pressure.

Townhall

Adding SPS to the brawls is meant to help incentive guilds to move up brawl tiers, right now there is a huge traffic jam at the bottom with 150ish guilds in tier 2 and all the rest in tier 1. As with rank rewards there SPS rewards for brawls will be fixed by tier this means it will be very beneficial for your guild to move up where you are fighting with few guilds for a larger pool. Blood and power stones the gold foil and legendary boost for gladius packs while available for vouchers instead of just merits. This will help players be able to buy them when opening gladius packs and save merits for buying the gladius packs.

Marketing is in full swing, Splinterfest information should be out next week. Splinterlands had OG Heartstone player, Alliestrasza, stream on Splinterlands TV the Tuesday the July 26th, if you missed it you can take the replay on twitch.
