Chapter 7

Old Alric continued on his way to the sea kingdom, but he could not stop thinking about everything he had talked about with Peakrider, it was a surprise for him to see a winged character with great power and authority. Deep in his heart he wondered if they had done the right thing by helping Jarlax, because he thought that something bad was about to happen, but at the same time he could not do anything, regrets would not take him anywhere, so the only thing he could do was to move forward and assume his responsibility.

As he approached he noticed a great storm on the horizon, the sea was rough, the waters went from one place to another without stopping, but when he was in front of them everything became serene, and he could glimpse the way to enter.

Everything had changed, previously he could see the kingdom in the distance, but now the waters had covered it, a work that was not the work of fate, but of someone who with his power had done it.

Upon entering he was stunned with what he saw, marine life everywhere, his kingdom was now alive, but under water, away from unwanted access, the most amazing thing was that he could breathe without problems under there, something he could not understand since it did not make any sense, because he was a human after all.

Even so, he did not pay much attention to it and continued observing as he moved forward. It was a wonder what his eyes could notice. Alric changed his thoughts for moments, he no longer saw so bad to have helped Jarlax, because thanks to him beyond his secret intentions everything had returned to be as it was originally, although for him it was totally new.

When he entered the palace he asked to enter the royal hall but was prevented by two soldiers who were there, Alric stayed waiting while one of the guards notified of his presence. He spent some time conversing with the remaining guard who inquired about his person, suddenly a thunderous sound was heard in the palace, Alric was alarmed but the soldier told him that there was no problem, that it was the Cracken prowling around, and that the only reason he was not devoured by it when he entered the sea world was because it was a guest and not a stranger. Alric mused that he had not seen such a beast, but deep down he was ignorant of many things.

After a while he was invited to enter the royal hall, when he entered he saw one who was standing in front, who asked him to sit down, after that 2 more beings arrived and took a seat. There were only 4 people in the room, the soldier who had called him came out and closed the door behind him. Once this was done, the conversation began.

One of them asked, "Before whom do we have the pleasure?"

"My name is Alric," replied the old man, after that he proceeded to ask, "Who are you?"

Very kindly one of them answered him, "My name the Valnamor, Sea Prince, these here are Bortus and Xia, two of my most faithful servants and commanders of the marine forces."

What brings you here Alric, Valnamor asked.

To which the old man replied, "This is where I belong young Prince, before you woke up I was the one in charge of this place, although I see everything changed, very different from how it was back then."

Hearing such an answer, the three thought for a moment, and Bortus decided to ask him, "How did you wake us up?"

This question caused some astonishment to Alric who proceeded to tell them everything that happened, after that Valnamor indicated to him that in the previous war he was close to defeat Lord of Darkness, but something happened and he doesn't remember anything else from there. Such conversation extended, and brought as evidence that the use of the stone of rebirth to trap them in that long sleep was something unknown to them, and at the same time a bit arbitrary on the part of Peakrider and the judges of the light.

Xia was upset to learn the truth, and with an impetuous tone said she would pay Peakrider a visit, but Valnamor stopped her by indicating that they would all do so later, when the others were present. The Prince was very much at ease with Alric's presence, their conversation bore good fruit, the old man's wisdom was such that he was placed in charge of one of the provinces of the kingdom, and he would also serve as an advisor.

Alric got to know the other commanders of the royal court, and also established friendly ties throughout the kingdom, his wisdom spread everywhere, and he became an important part of the marine world.

El viejo Alric proseguía su camino hacia el reino marino, pero no podía dejar de pensar en todo lo que había hablado con Peakrider, fue una sorpresa para el ver a un personaje alado con gran poder y autoridad. En el fondo de su corazón se preguntaba si habían hecho lo correcto al ayudar a Jarlax, pues pensaba que algo malo estaba por pasar, pero a su vez no podía hacer nada, los lamentos no le llevarían a ningún lado, asi que lo único que podía hacer era avanzar y asumir su responsabilidad.

Mientras se acercaba noto en el horizonte una gran tempestad, el mar estaba embravecido, las aguas iban de un lugar a otro sin parar, pero cuando estaba frente a ellas todo se volvió sereno, y pudo vislumbrar el camino para entrar.

Todo había cambiado, anteriormente se podía observar el reino a la distancia, pero ahora las aguas lo habían cubierto, una obra que no era cosa del destino, sino de alguien que con su poder lo había hecho.

Al entrar quedo anonadado con lo que veía, vida marina por todos lados, su reino ahora estaba vivo, pero bajo el agua, lejos del acceso no deseado, lo más asombroso era que podía respirar sin problemas allí debajo, algo que no podía entender ya que no tenía ningún sentido, pues él era un humano al final de cuentas.

Aun asi no le dio mucha atención y siguió observando mientras avanzaba. Era una maravilla lo que sus ojos podían notar. Alric cambio su pensamiento por momentos, ya no veía tan mal haber ayudado a Jarlax, pues gracias a él más allá de sus intenciones secretas todo había vuelto a ser como era originalmente, aunque para el fuera totalmente nuevo.

Cuando entro al palacio pidió ingresar al salón real pero fue impedido por dos soldados que allí estaban, Alric se quedó esperando mientras uno de los guardias notificaba de su presencia. Duro un tiempo conversando con el guardia restante quien indagaba acerca de su persona, de pronto se escuchó un sonido estruendoso en el palacio, Alric se alarmo pero el soldado le indico que no había problemas, que era el Cracken merodeando, y que la única razón por la cual no fue devorado por el al ingresar al mundo marino fue porque se trataba de un huésped y no un desconocido. Alric meditaba en que no había visto a tal bestia, pero en el fondo ignoraba muchas cosas.

Al pasar de un tiempo lo invitaron a ingresar al salón real, cuando entro vio a uno que estaba parado en frente, quien le pidió que se sentara, luego de eso llegaron 2 seres más que tomaron asiento. Había solo 4 personas en el salón, el soldado que lo había llamado salió y cerró la puerta tras él. Una vez hecho esto, inicio la conversación.

Uno de ellos pregunto: "¿Ante quien tenemos el gusto?"

"Mi nombre es Alric”, respondió el anciano, luego de eso procedió a preguntar: "¿Ustedes quiénes son?"

Muy amablemente uno de ellos le respondió: "mi nombre el Valnamor, Principe marino, estos de aquí son Bortus y Xia, dos de mis más fieles servidores y comandantes de las fuerzas marinas."

¿Qué te trae por aquí Alric?, pregunto Valnamor

A lo que el viejo respondió: "Aquí es donde pertenezco joven Principe, antes de que ustedes despertaran yo era quien estaba a cargo de este lugar, aunque veo todo cambiado, muy diferente a como era en ese entonces"

Al oír tal respuesta, los tres pensaron por un momento, y Bortus decidió preguntarle: "¿Cómo fue que nos despertaste?"

Esta pregunta causo algo de asombro a Alric quien procedió a contarles todo lo sucedido, luego de eso Valnamor le indico que en la anterior guerra él estuvo cerca de vencer a Lord of Darkness, pero algo paso y no recuerda nada mas de allí. Tal conversación se extendió, y trajo como evidencia que el uso de la piedra del renacimiento para atraparlos en ese largo sueño fue algo desconocido para ellos, y a su vez un poco arbitrario por parte de Peakrider y los jueces de la luz.

Xia se molestó al saber la verdad, y con un tono impetuoso dijo que haría una visita a Peakrider, pero Valnamor la detuvo indicándole que más adelante lo harían todos, cuando los demás estuvieran presentes. El Principe estuvo muy a gusto con la presencia Alric, su conversación dio buenos frutos, la sabiduría del anciano fue tal que lo colocaron a cargo de una de las provincias del reino, y también haría como consejero.

Alric fue conociendo a los demás comandantes de la corte real, y también fue estableciendo lazos amistosos en todo el reino, su sabiduría se expandía en todos los lugares, y formo parte importante en el mundo marino.
