Splinterlands Rewards System Will Increase Player Rewards?

So recently Splinterlands team has shared that they are working on the new ranked battle rewards update for months and from this season starting (in like 3 days from now on) we will see the rewards as per the new update.

With this new update players who were only using the Starter Cards (these are the cards available for all the players even if they don't own them to play in the battles) were not able to earn much with this update. Now this will decrease the layer rewards who have just started out or who have not invested in buying the cards. For example, I do have some starter cards which I use to play within the battle and now if I use that card it will decrease my rewards share.

In some way, this is good for the game because we know that any player who starts the game can play with the starter card and win without even spending anything other than SpellBook. This actually decreases the reward pool for the people who actually invested heavily in the game.

So now whoever uses Starter Cards in any battle, their reward share will decrease based on the number of starter cards he/she is using. So that means if I am playing the battle with 1 starter card then my reward share will decrease by 20% and it will be 0 if I use all cards as the starter card. Now this change will not only affect your ranked battle dec rewards, but it will also impact the daily focus (name changed from daily quest) and season rewards. That means if you are using the starter card, it will impact your dec earned, daily focus as well as season rewards. Also if you are using Gold Foil or Older Edition Cards then your reward share will increase which means if you are an older player having cards from old edition cards then you will be benefitted.

Now, this is a good update for many existing players and even though it will actually decrease the new player rewards but players who are playing it for a long time will surely benefit from this change because eventually, their rewards are going to increase.

But you are not afraid that the increase in rewards will lead to a decrease in the market value of the coins?

Yes, there will be a decrease in market value but again I think people will start buying if they are not getting good rewards from the Starter pack and think about people buying so many cards now.

I think they are just asking players to buy cards if they want to earn in Splinterlands.
