Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Defender of Truth

Here we are, another week and another Weekly Challenge and I am happy to see an alpha/beta version monster getting featured and Defender Of Truth is one of the handy monsters not just with it's attack, but it also gives those armors thru protect ability.

Defender of Truth is one of the nicest Life Splinter monsters we can have and this epic magic monster will make it a bit more difficult one for opponent's melee and ranged attack monsters with it's protect ability to build 2 more armors for the already existing armors the Life Splinter monster will have and this one with 3 or 4 speed (depending on the level of monsters we have), can be among the early attackers.

So, what this monster has in store to make use of it when we use it in battles? Here are the stats for this as we can see in above screenshot.

So, as we can see, the magic attack ranges from 1 to 3 with level 5 and 6 having a max attack of 3, but even a level 2 or 3 monster gives a decent 2 attack and can be a good addition to the lineup given it's speed of attack and the armor giving ability.

The speed starts with 3 and from level 4, it increases to 4 and remains the same for all higher levels.

This monster is with lone armor and that means, it can have minimum of 3 armors and given it's leveled up to level 3, it can get and give 2 more armors to all the monsters in our lineup.

Lastly, it's life starts with 3 and can go to a max of 4 in the 6 levels.

So, this battle was the ideal one for me for using Defender of Truth as a theme monster as it was a battle with melee mayhem rule set and additionally, there was another rule set of earthquake which also favored me to use Life Splinter and Defender of Truth in particular to have those 2 extra armors.

Here is the lineup I used for this battle which had a 28 MANA cap:

Lineup:

1. Lord Arianthus:

Being a monster with thorn, magic reflect, void and shield abilities, this was a good choice for this melee mayhem battle.

2. Silvershield Paladin:

Another monster with magic reflect and shield abilities and has those huge number of armors and hence, can withstand melee and ranged attack and can be an ideal one for the earthquake rule set as well.

3. Silvershield Knight:

This melee attack monster is among the most used for it's Inspire* ability and is a handy one in this battle with it's 2+1 attack and it also attacks earlier with it's 5 speed.

4. Defender Of Truth:

Theme monster, solely used for it's armor building ability to help in this earthquake rule set battle.

Not to forget it's speed of 4 and useful 2 magic attack.

5. Divine Healer:

A healer is a good addition to any lineup to keep front monster alive and this magic monster also has the ability to slow down the opponent's monsters which will be a huge advantage in the battles for the rule sets given.

6. Armorsmith:

Lastly, I use this repair monster for it's armor repairing ability and it also is useful in this melee mayhem battle to attack with it's 2 melee attack.

Opponent used monsters The Kraken, Naga Warrior, Cocatrice, Enchanted Pixie, Albatross and Ice Pixie.

Battle:

Round 1:

The Kraken at the front didn't make much difference as the monsters I used were all about to attack the front monster since this was a melee mayhem battle and opponent's 3 monsters having 1 or 2 life have to go away since the Lord A was severe on those 3 monsters viz. Ice Pixie, Enchanted Pixie and Cocatrice reducing opponent's count to just 3 even before the Earthquake started.

Round 2:

The earthquake happened to reduce the life by 2 for all monsters and it all took just 3 more iterations to remove the remaining 3 monsters The Kraken, Naga Warrior and Albatross to have one of the quickest wins for 28 MANA cost battle.

I wasn't expecting that quick win and even my opponent wouldn't have expected to lose so quickly, but the combo of *Lord A and earthquake made that possible!!!

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Frankly speaking, it was like a no contest since opponent has to lose 3 monsters in First round itself and that can't take away the effort of putting a lineup what I created and I was happy with whatever I used.

I couldn't have brought in any other monster into my lineup to make it more better than the one I used and happy with my original lineup :)

Do I like the DEFENDER OF TRUTH? Why or why not?

I do like it a lot and it's one of the most used monsters by me from Life Splinter.

The armor ability it gives is a nice thing to strengthen the already stronger armors of Life Splinter monsters.

That was a battle I am not very proud of, not because of issues with my lineup, but because of the selection of monsters by opponent and losing them out quickly.

But, it was kind of OK for me as it's still a battle and a win is a win!!!
