I hope you are doing fine and battling it out as we are nearing the season to end in 4 days.

I haven't been active on Hive and Splinterlands off late and this is my First blog in almost 4 months and I am happy to be back with this Weekly challenge by Splinterlands.

We have this Fire splinter monster by name Cerberus which is the featured monster this week

Cerberus is a melee attack monster from Fire splinter and it is a healing monster which means, it can get a portion of the health recollected back to it just before it attacks the monster from opponent's lineup.

Cerberus is used by many Splinterlands battlers and it's healing ability makes it to be used at the front since it's a melee attack monster.

It's attack is not much when the level 1 monster we buy, but as we level him up, he will get additional attack as shown in above screenshot.

Speed starts at medium range it goes to 5 when leveled up to be in 6th level.

Life this starts at 5 and keeps increasing with each level and it's maximum life can be 9 lives at the maximum level of 8.

This monster has healing and retaliate abilities to keep healing and also to keep attacking back a melee attack monster when this monster is attacked.

The screenshot above shows the initial setup for the battle involved with Cerberus as monster at first position.

The battle had 20 mana cap and hence, I selected few low mana cost monsters as shown below since one of the rulesets was equalizer making the life of all the monsters equal to the life of the monster with maximum life.

This battle also had even stevens ruleset which means, only the monsters with odd mana cost can be used.

I used below lineup for this equalizer ruleset battle with Cerberus at the first position.

1. Cerberus:

Used it in first position because of it's healing ability and also it has speed of 3 to attack early.

2. Magma Troll:

image.png

Used this reach ability monster in second position since it can give 2 melee attack. Another reason why I used this is because this is a gold foiled card giving me that extra DEC.

3. Furious Chicken:

image.png

After the Cerberus and Kobold Bruiser gets removed, this will be the one to be at first position and I wanted to hold back the Kobold Miner and other 2 so that, they can keep attacking from second line for more time.

4. Kobold Miner:

image.png

Used this to have an attack from back end of the opponent's lineup. Although this failed to attack the last monster many times, but was able to get rid of the last monster.

5. Beetle Queen:

image.png

Used it because of it's 2 magic attack and nice speed of 4 and it also has an armor.

6. Halfling Alchemist:

image.png

Besides halving the attack of the front monster, it also gives 1 ranged attack and protects the other monsters from sneak attack.

Battle:

Round 1:

Halfling Alchemist proved it's worth as it got to attack before the Stone Golem used by opponent and avoided the Cerberus from getting removed.

None of the monsters removed in this round.

Round 2:

Stone Golem got to go in this round and that brought Armorsmith into first position from opponent's lineup, but since it wasn't having any attack ability, it just kept creating armors.

image.png

Round 3:

Armorsmith without any attack and no healing as well means, it got to go in this round and that started the ranged attack monsters moving to first position for opponent.

image.png

Round 4:

The total attack from opponent's monsters was getting reduced and there was no way Cerberus could get removed and in this round, Herbalist from other side has to go and brought Silvershield Archer to front.

image.png

Round 5:

Silvershield Archers got removed in this round and the last man Fire Spitter moved into first position, but it can't attack as it was also a ranged attack monster.

image.png

Round 6:

Fire Spitter removal in this round means, I won this battle with all the monsters I used were alive.

That was like a one sided battle, but we have to appreciate Cerberus for it's healing ability .

Here I am answering the questions as per in Splinterlands blog:

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

It worked well for me as no monster got removed from the lineup I used.

If I have to try different, then may be I will use Furious Chicken from first position instead of Cerberus in equalizer battle and allow other monsters to attack from second line.

Do you like the CERBERUS? Why or why not?

All I have is a level 3 monster and that is good enough to battle it out and give a win, but it may struggle in other rulesets.

I like to use Cerberus in some selected ruleset battles like melee mayhem, super sneak etc.. where it can be used in the middle of the lineup.

I hope you liked this battle and the lineup I used. Looking forward to your support and comments to write more blogs on Splinterlands.

Thank you and have a good day.
