Greetings marvelous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

We made it to the weekend! And that also means we made it to yet another edition of CATURDAY, my favorite day of the week. Time to get out those snapshots of your favorite feline friends and share with the world!

Wish I had some sunshine...

We cats do love our sunny spots (or "sun puddles," as some people like to call them) but sadly there's not much going on in that department, here.

We've now had several consecutive days of gray weather and a bit of fog... even though it is actually bone dry here. The Hoomans seem happy that there is actually rain in the overnight forecast... it guess it's because it will do their vegetable garden good! I guess I also care — at least in a small way — because it will be good for the catnip they are growing out there!

Yes, I can be a bit of a kitty stoner head, now and then!

Splinterlands: Taking Things "Seriously..."

I guess we are all happy to see our native Hive token doing rather well, as of late.

Much of the current "success" seems to be thanks to the sudden flight of Splinterlands, which seems to have resulted in ten TIMES more new accounts being created every day — WOW!

I always thought that Splinterlands — back when it first came to light as "SteemMonsters" — held perhaps the greatest potential for putting our community on the map in a big way.

The Hoomans have a good number of friends who were/are deeply into MTG (aka "Magic The Gathering") which — in a not dissimilar way — grew from just an idea 1993 to more than 35 MILLION players now, with BILLIONS of cards in circulation.

The beauty of it is that it is "its own draw," meaning that it brings people to the Hive environment without anyone having to sell the "join Hive!" idea.

AND it's still one of the few ways you can — even if indirectly — get started on Hive with a credit or debit card!

Meanwhile, the Hive Cats Community

One of my projects from last year was creating the Hive Cats Community with the intent of developing an active location and posting place for Hive's many feline fanciers.

Haven't really done a lot to promote the community, but last week I finally got around to creating the first (of hopefully many!) weekly "Cat Content Compendiums" for Hive Cats.

The immediate short-term goal is to get to 100 subscribers. After that? Well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it...

In the meantime, if you have not visited the community, I invite you to take a look!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communties!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Remember, you can also "cross-post" your cat posts to them!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
