Splinterlands - Brawls Provide a Learning Experience
At the end of each Guild Brawl, I go back and review all of my matches to reinforce my good lineups and also make sure I study the lineups that I was totally destroyed. I was only able to win three of my eight battles.
Some of the matches, I was not very competitive as my opponent had better cards than I had in my deck or an leveled up summoners with leveled up monsters. I am still developing my deck and leveling up my cards. Below is one of my matches that I would like to highlight to everyone. It demonstrates the power of the Cleanse ability.
The River Nymph is in our standard deck, I do not own a copy but will need to get one before they go up in price. For four mana and three health, it does not look that impressive but it is the cleanse ability that gives it importance. Combine this card with a good tank.
This is one of the three battles that I won.

When I was watching this Brawl, I thought there would be no way that I could win. The rule sets were Noxious Fumes and Melee Mayhem. Torhilo the Frozen was their Tank and I have never won a match against that card.
By the start of Round 3, I was starting to have a little hope that I may outlast them since I had cleansed the poison from my first position. They still had a lot of fight left in them but in the end I was victorious.
This match reminded me that cleanse was a very powerful ability and that it should always be used for the Noxious Fumes rule set.
All of my opponents line ups in which they used a card with the Bloodlust ability, I lost. I have been able to earn enough merits to purchase two Gladius Cases. However our guild is still working to upgrade our Barracks. All of the Gladius Case cards have the Bloodlust ability. The Barracks needs to be upgraded to level 2 before these cards can be used.
The good news is that these cards do count toward collection power for your ranking.

Guild brawls can be a really good training ground also because the level difference between players is limited by the fray that you play in. It's very good to look at the battles after each brawl and often we can figure out deficiencies in our lineups.
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!
Thank you for selecting my post for inclusion in you curated collection. I have learned a lot from my brawls I believe it has helped me in my regular matches.

Great job winning the battle. I find that Kelya's speed makes a lot of difference in the battles. It feels like sometimes you are lucky and other times they never miss.

I was very worried when I saw their lineup as I have never won against that Frozen bull card but in the end it was the cleanse that saved me.
