Splinterlands - Top Blockchain Dapp, Good for Game and Great for Hive Platform

There are new players joining Splinterlands everyday. In fact, it is the #1 Blockchain Dapps by users over the past 24 hour period. Granted if you look at the last 7 day or 30 day period, Alien Worlds (Wax blockchain) is #1.

Visibility to the Masses

But my point here is not about being the #1 Blockchain Dapp, it is about all of the visibility that comes with being in the top 5 Blockchain Dapps. It is free advertising for Splinterlands, the Hive Platform and all of the other apps, games and communities that are on the Hive Platform.

Being listed as one of the top Dapps helps support the Hive Crypto price as well. Hive is required and is the foundation of the Hive Blockchain. The more players on Splinterlands, just makes the Hive use case that much stronger. And we all like crypto with several strong use cases.

The Play2Earn model of online gaming is gaining popularity over the Free2Play model as the days go by. With more and more players moving to the Play2Earn (Blockchain) gaming area, blockchain games is where the action is.

Play2Earn will not be going away anytime soon. If you are not a player then join for the investment. I love the challenge of the game and also like the investment aspect so I am playing for more than one reason. I believe the various tokens that are available will have greater demand as new players join and the supply will not be increasing as quickly as demand.

Investment

You may ask, how is playing a game an investment. Well, that is quite simple. Splinterlands is based on collecting cards that have certain abilities and attributes. The players creates a lineup of these cards in player vs player format. The best lineup wins the match and is rewarded with DEC which is an in-game Token. Thus Play2Earn.

If you noticed, I just stated the Splinterlands game is based on a collection of cards. Have you ever heard of collecting baseball cards? Well, as an investor, you would do the same thing. Collect the cards with the best abilities and/or attributes.

By playing you can win cards that can be used in game play, rented out to other players or sold on the open market. Since I am considering these cards like an investment, I will be collecting and holding as many as possible for as long as possible since assets normally appreciate in value.

Wax Blockchain connected to Splinterlands/Hive Platform

To further enhance the value of Splinterlands and the Hive Platform, the developers have create a bridge so that all of the Splinterlands gaming cards called NFTs can be traded on the Wax Blockchain. This has created even more buzz for the Splinterlands game and in turn the Hive Blockchain.

These are some of the most recently listed Splinterland cards on the WAX Blockchain. There is a wide range of prices based on the age of the cards and the associated abilities and attributes. the second one in the screen shot is listed for $24,162 and then the next one is selling for $0.32 The barriers to entry into this game are relatively low.

Season End Rewards

The season just ended and I was awarded 12 loot chests for my game play. Both as a player and an investor, I love getting to season end to see what additional assets I will be adding to my collection.

I received 7 NFT cards, 4 DEC tokens and 3 potions.

My current card collection is still small but is growing with each new card I add from the Daily Quest and Season End rewards. Also, new packs will soon go on sale which will make growing your collection even easier.

My current collection is worth: $154.63 using Market Prices I have only been collecting for less than three months. There are players that have been playing/collecting since the game was created years ago with collections worth over $100,000. I will continue to collect and invest in this game for years to come and grow my collection to that size or larger.
