Sneaky Mech - weekly battle challenge

A ten mana cost card always puts fear into the enemy, even if it is a common card very affordable for all @Splinterlands players. Although many times the fear induced by the Goblin Mech doesn't pass by, we often see it failing attacks due to its slowness, and thus, all that power its attacks have is useless.

Still, with the right combination of ruleset and mana cap we can make room for it in our team and see how the monstrous goblin machine helps us win the battle, such as in the next battle.

Why do I use the Goblin Mech?

To be honest, I am not used to use the Goblin Mech, it seems to me a very slow card with little stamina, especially against magic attacks, I have given it many opportunities but it often disappoints me, I have gone through many battles where it dies in the first round without even attacking or worse failing its attack.

But now that battles in the upper leagues are usually with a greater mana cap, it's not bad to give him a chance if the conditions are right

The line up

To compensate for the slowness of the Goblin Mech, I usually try to combine it with cards that modify the speed and I don't like to put it in the first line.

  • My first pick was the Exploding Dwarf as this card is too powerful in super sneak mode.

  • Then, as always in my fire teams, the Flame Imp to give more speed to the team and the Goblin Shaman to slow down and weaken the enemy team, both cards covering my Exploding Dwarf in front and behind forming "the core" of my team.

  • I looked for a couple of tanks for both the front and rear positions, I placed the Serpentine Soldier in the back so it would dodge most of the enemy sneaks' attacks. and the Naga in front to do magic damage to the enemy tank so it wouldn't activate any counterattacks or get damaged by any possible enemy thorns.

  • I still had ten mana points left to use and my choice was the Goblin Mech, which with the help of the Imp and the Shaman and protected by the Naga would surely give some good blows and with some luck I would put some stun.

The strategy work?

In the end the strategy worked properly and the Goblin Mech knocked down three of the enemy monsters, not bad for a common type card, especially when we were facing a team with very scary legendary cards, the Serpentine Soldier did his thing dodging those powerful attacks and the Naga had a good showdown against the enemy Serpent of the Flame. and my Dwarf, although he died in the first round weakened the enemy ranks enough.

What did you think of this strategy? Did you use a different team with the Goblin Mech?

Whoa. I need to step out of my comfort zone. Great explanation on the line up here. And how to use Goblin Mech at higher levels.
Generally, in lower levels, it's a beast and destroys all, but I do agree, it seems to be weaker comparatively at higher levels... But... it IS a common, after all. And it's run by a motley crew of goblins... so makes sense. 😉

Yeah I love the explanation of the line up! I'm still in the lower ranks so I don't have any experience playing at 2000 trophies and higher!!!

Be persevering and you will soon reach higher leagues, you don't need the most expensive cards for that.

I'm glad you like my explanation. Thanks for stopping by.
