Same lineup different outcome

I'm not kidding, it's the exact same lineup 😔

Have you ever battled with 2 different people but they end up having the same lineup as each other, right after the other? Somehow, based on what I saw on their previous battle, I also chose the exact same lineup as my previous battle? Seriously, what are the odds of this happening? After so many battles, I saw something that I find hard to believe... maybe I don't have enough battles yet but still, it's a huge ouch on my side.

Also, I remember having a battle with another person last season and the person was using the same lineup as I had this time whereas I was using the opponent's lineup and I lost. So I thought that this time, if I used that lineup, it was a sure win. However, one can never be too sure in splinterlands. I know that splinterlands said that I might be surprised at the outcome, but no way this happened to me. Really a huge ouch.

Notice how the names at the bottom changed but the lineups did not (sorry it's abit blur) ^

I checked their cards and it seems like they are using the same cards as I am, no upgrades of cards because they are starter cards.

I find it quite curious how same lineups can lead to different outcomes and felt like there is actually luck involved in the algorithm of chance. But is there really? I'm not too sure because based on my battles, it seemed like there is. It ain't math anymore. I can only say chance is a very curious thing.
