Aug. 23, 20: AutomaticWin, Hiking, Grocery Shopping, and Games

Made it almost to seven this morning with only a few minutes short, so close enough for government work.

Same old, same old on the morning routine. Hit up the faucets, did some curation, said “hi” on Discord, checked the crypto markets...

I did sell some more SOL to a new member, so I did all the new member stuff: following, giving them the badge, and getting their vote set. Things have been going pretty well for The Solairitas Project, just need more awareness...need to get some ads!

It’s that time of year now when the cicadas come out and fill the trees with their droning. Went to let the dog out and there was a huge one sitting on the door, hardcore camo!

It has been months since we went out to the woods proper, we didn’t even try after the first wave of skeeters 🦟, we knew how sucky it would be out there, but today we decided to give it another go.

We went and picked up Lady and headed out pretty early. I chose to go the direction with fewer hills, but we still ended up with more stairs than basically the whole summer put together!

Not a bad start to the morning at all! Pretty warm already for being that early.

Got to the fields just about sunrise. There was a mist everywhere...very magical.

Caught two of those yellow beetles making more yellow beetles. 😂

The fields were littered with little spider webs all over:

The webs were all covered in dew and looked amazing in the sunlight.

Doggies had a great time running around off the leash. They both were pretty adventurous and ran after some chipmunks, but they were both well behaved and Dude came back when he was called. 😁

Pretty amazing, walking down this country road with the sunbeams shining through...

Check out the size of this ant mound! I’ve never seen a colony this big before!!! 😮

Wenche noticed this little centipede, so I got a quick shot:

Then I started to see more of them:

Then I realized that they were absolutely everywhere! I mean thousands of them...every step I took I counted five to ten! If they were that dense where we could see them, there must have been millions of them spread everywhere.

Amazing that I didn’t notice them the whole way and then once we saw one they were impossible to miss!

By the time we finished, the sun was out in full force, and it had definitely warmed up.

All of the webs were gone! Pretty sure the spiders eat them.

We took Lady home, I did my post for the day, and then we headed into town to do the weekly grocery shopping. Nothing major there, but we ended up buying some stuff we didn’t really need because we had coupons (they got us)!

The rest of the day we spent basically just relaxing. Wenche made steaks 🥩 and baked potatoes 🥔 for dinner and we binge watched Lucifer...there’s more divine, freaky stuff going on now, so it’s much more compelling. All in all, a pretty good Sunday. 😃

No crime today in my dCity, and the taxes aren’t too bad right now, so I got over 100 SIM, some BEER, and some WEED. 🤑

Yet again I was unable to complete my tasks on Holybread today. 😭 I just could not get the arena wins no matter who I fought. 😡

Been able to keep my ranking up reasonably well in spite of my defeats, still top twenty and just out of the top ten.

My Splinterlands quest was Death splinter today. Didn’t do too badly, actually. I got kind of lucky with the rule sets that were nicely suited to my Death deck.

I was getting really close to Champion II, so I waited to complete the quest and played a few more games first. I broke through and got it! 🤩

Completed the quest in Champion II with a quest potion charge. More rewards chests simply means more worthless potions, well, I did get a few good cards:
