Dec. 11, 21: Routine, Oculus, Chaos Legion Day 4, MSP Waves, TV, and Games

Although it was broken in the middle by about an hour of walking laps around the house, got a solid nine hours tonight and actually gained back a little ground. 💪 Still not particularly motivated to accomplish much, but I am starting to feel some drive returning.

Regardless, this next week is the end of Fall semester, so got some prep to do for the final (unfortunately, there’s a student that’s come up positive for rona and now I have to deal with that complication as well 😡).

Otherwise, pretty much the usual morning routine. The crypto markets and my DeFi investments are more or less in exactly the same place as they have been the past several days, no major action really anywhere.

Spent a bunch of time shifting and staking H-E tokens and been trying to make a decision about what route to take as far as my BeeSwap investment…I did look into some of the other pools, particularly PIZZA ones, but the rewards on those seem to be expiring. I don’t think sitting in the DEC pool is the best use of those funds, but not quite sure what to do instead.

Speaking of not quite knowing what to do, I’m getting a bunch of Splinterlands vouchers now, but with the increase in supply (and the reduced buyers willing to fork over USD), they’re crashing hard. They’re still about six dollars or so, so it is very tempting to sell and use the funds to invest, but not sure if I’m willing to sell at such relatively low level. 🤔 Seems that in most of these cases my indecisiveness results (actually) in the decision to do nothing.

Opened up my Chaos Legion packs for the day and took a break about half way through to work on my post.

Got my post done and all that usual stuff and then played Beat Saber on the Oculus for a while. Been playing through the new song pack and did find one that I really dig. Feels good playing it and I actually got an S score on expert+! 💪

In the afternoon we had a little intimate time and then I chilled out for some of Crim’s show on MSP Waves. Turns out there are absolutely vagina teacozies for sale, what a time to be alive! 🤣

In the evening Wenche made us pancakes for dinner and we watched Krampus. I’m not sure it’s exactly a Christmas classic, but it did keep me awake the whole way through, which is certainly more than I can say for most. It was my “payback” for all the cheesy, gross, sappy rom-com Christmas movies she’s made me watch (by default since that’s what she’s watching).

Afterwards we watched some more Teenage Bounty Hunters but I didn’t make it through more than one episode I don’t think before I was out again. After this week we have winter break, so hopefully I’ll be able to focus and crank the productivity level up a few notches!

I guess I can take it as some consolation that dShitty is only as shitty as the theft from taxes, no additional shittiness on top today. 😛

Seems like I more or less forgot about Rising Star today. I did another mission or two, but that was about it. I suppose, in that respect, I can’t really expect to grow much faster.

Played my Splinterlands quest in the evening and had a pretty rough start and lost like nine out of eleven battles…hung in there, though, and earned my position back.

Had Death splinter for my quest today, which poses a tougher challenge for me than some other splinters, but I did use a couple of the new Chaos Legion monsters. Still need to get them to around level six to make them properly useful, but that’s going to take a huge number of cards. At this point I’m not really willing to take the expensive scattershot approach of getting packs and may instead use some DEC to take a more focused approach as people sell on the market. Seems a wiser approach in that the commons can be gotten at a rate of twenty cards to one pack ($4).

Anyway, got my quest done still in Gold I and got pretty good cards today. For once I’m actually thankful for potions…although I’m dubious of their effectiveness, every bit helps and I’ve actually burned through my entire stockpile opening packs! 😱

Speaking of opening packs, I opened twenty more today. One glitched out, so I don’t know what I got, but I didn’t notice any new interesting cards, so likely four commons and a rare. Filling out the collection now and only have one or two more of the base set to unlock. Getting quite a few up to level three, but it gets harder as more cards are required and they get spread thinner over more cards.
