Mar. 12, 20: A Day Down the Drain 😛

Well, up early to the continuing saga of the repercussions of corona on my teaching (which I now need to shift online) as well as on the markets and in the news.

Oh, but that wasn’t all...no, remember yesterday when the drain clogged? I plunged at it for several hours, getting little chunks of gunk but just seemingly shifting the water back and forth.

I finally gave up and left two or three inches of water in the tub, assuming it would probably just sit there all night.

Amazingly enough, all the water had drained out in the morning, so not all hope was lost, something was getting through!!!

I went over to my Moms house to use the bathroom 🚽 and then headed up to the grocery store. I got the emergency clog buster liquid plumber and two big bottles of the gel.

I put the emergency kind down the tub drain and a whole big bottle down the kitchen and bathroom sink drains and let them sit.

Wanted to make sure to run hot water through, so I filled some pots to get the hot to the tap and boiled the rest.

I poured the hot water down the drains and there was all kinds of bubbling noises and things sounded good...Ran some more hot water and hooray! It was going down fine... I accomplished my task and my manhood was preserved.

Oh, but not so fast. A flush of the toilet and a little more water and whoopee! It started coming up in the tub and the sinks. Epic fail!

I thought I had made at least a little progress with the chemical attack, so I spent some more time plunging.

After another hour or so, I finally admitted defeat and started calling plumbers. Apparently, “plumber” was the wrong thing to search?! Out of like five or six that I tried, all but one called back and said they didn’t unclog drains!!

Luckily, one did call back and he came out within another hour.

I cleared out everything that was in the way or electronic that could get damaged by water down in the basement where there’s an access cap. I’ve never been able to get it off, and neither was he.

After trying to break it loose, he eventually had to rip out the toilet and snake the main line from there.

It wasn’t within the first six feet or so and I started to get really worried that it was further down toward the road and we’d have to tear up the whole driveway to get at it. 😢

Once the got past the wall and went outside, it was another five feet or so and then a magical whooshing sound! 😀

Then he had to put the toilet back together and after I paid the piper, I scrubbed the toilet, sink, and tub with bleach.

By that time I was tired and sore and so I just took a shower 🚿 and played a bit of Xbox.

I didn’t go out for a proper walk, so I seriously debated using the sportstalk tag (usually don’t), but I certainly got a full day’s exercise regardless...just got it the hard way. 😀😛

I did actually get all three of my Holybread tasks done today! 😁

Can’t seem to budge though...get so close to 100 and then lose again. I have to admit that the wins I got today were more or less just lucky since I had the chance to battles a couple noobs.

Still keeping at. Might try and sell some breadcrumbs this weekend to make me feel better about the time I’ve spent.

I didn’t finish my Steemmonsters quest from yesterday until around eight o’clock, so now I’m basically lagging a full day behind.

I was able to get enough DEC for a quest potion, and completed it back up in Diamond II after a brief losing streak back to III.

Pretty good rewards today, though! Absolutely love those bonus orbs!!! 🥰
