May 29, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Walking, AC Fail, TV, and Games

Slept from eight thirty to nearly six this morning for a solid eight, almost eight and a half hours sleep! 🥳 We worked pretty hard all day yesterday, so it was well earned. Although we didn’t go upstairs today, we did keep the productivity going and stayed active. 💪

Not a lot going on during the morning routine. Cryptos starting to look like they may be bottom bouncing? Might see a turnaround for a bit here?!?! 🥺 Aave was still broken, but I wasn’t going to make any moves right now anyway.

Been messing around with Wombat as well as COIN app…not enough hours in the day, but p2e is good stuff. 👍 I’m still frustrated that I can’t seem to get going on Dungeon Master; I have Wax NFTs, but it says I don’t have any to bury. 😡🤷 Trying to earn a couple playing some other games to see if they’ll count, but they do require some time investment to achieve.

I’m also a bit frustrated with COIN p2e. There was one for 12,000 COIN, which is more than five dollars! Download a tower game and get two level nine orange towers. Seemed alright, and the game was pretty fun, so been playing it. Got two orange towers, but it seems that in order to get them to level nine it’s almost necessary to pay…buy legendary chests. 🤬 I might give it a little more time, like I said the game is alright, but I’d hate to get sour with COIN so fast, kind of bait and switch.

Anyway, between that stuff and all the normal curation, H-E token shifting, getting caught up with pings in Discord, answering Calculus questions, hitting the faucets and all the rest, the morning flies!!!

Even so, I got a relatively early start on my post for the day and got it done, published, and shared, and we headed into town to do the weekly grocery shopping.

With toilet paper and cat/dog lunches and our usual stuff, we pushed two hundred bucks today! 😱 Inflation is raging. 😡

Got home, put everything away, got a bit of lunch, and then I went upstairs and used my nifty new laser range finder to measure as much as I could up there so we can draw some plans and get a proper estimate of the square footage for heating and cooling.

We did discuss and research that quite a bit. I’d planned on putting a heat pump up there since it would handle both heating and cooling, but I didn’t realize that it requires another condenser unit outside. Not sure it’s so smart to be running a furnace and a minisplit. We looked at the amperage draw and it didn’t seem that bad, like a thirty amp breaker, so I’m not sure what to do with that.

Considered putting a smaller furnace in the attic and ducting into the rooms through the attic, which would be nice and easily expandable if we extend the upstairs…there’s running the gas line and the exhaust venting, but those aren’t impossible challenges. Trouble is: then there’s still the cooling. 🤷

Not sure what happened last week, I think it was kinda’ cold and rainy, but we didn’t take the dogs for a walk. This week it was gorgeous out, so there were no excuses. 😁

I liked it best when the wind settled down and the sun was blasting, felt quite nice, but the breeze wasn’t bad, just took the toasty feeling away. Nice day to be out for a walk either way!

We went down past the pond. It’s still really high and we caught a little wildlife. Saw some dragonflies doin’ tha’ nasty:

Took Lady home and Dude got a bath as soon as we got home since he decided to go running off in the swamp. 😡 The ticks were awful! Got three off Lady and one off Dude. After about an hour or so of getting home I got up from sitting on the bed and there was one on my pillow! 🤬😱😡

That made me unhappy and paranoid, so I started peeling off my clothes…had another one on my shirt, another one inside my pants, another one running up my back, and one that had had enough time to dig into my back!!! 🤬 We have some neato tick removal tools and Wenche twisted it out. Seems like we got it quick enough that it hadn’t started sucking blood. Fun times.

Wenche made us some yummy chicken sandwiches for dinner and we watched some Librarians. It started to get pretty warm in the bedroom and so I decided to fire up the A/C for the first time this year. Pretty upset about it, but we let it run for two stretches of twenty minutes and the condenser never came on. 😭😡 We should still be under warranty, but there’s not going to be anyone around Memorial Day, and then whenever we can get an appointment for them to come out…might be a few uncomfortable days ahead. 😢

Tried to play my Splinterlands, but wasn’t really into it. Spent a little more time messing with Wombat and then hit the hay.

Woah!!! No crime or crises in my dShitty today and an income of forty-one?!?! It’s been forever since I got that much! 😮🤑
Still about a tenth of what I should be getting every day, but never mind.

Really not much worth talking about with Rising Star. Just did a mission and that was about it. Thinking maybe another card or two might help my growth rate, but I don’t know, not sour but bored with this one.

I still did not get around to going back in to HashKings to get it taken care of. I did try to use the mobile site again to see if it would work, but of course it didn’t. (Oh! And they’re now putting Hive DHF funds into their pockets).

I’ve just been recycling the same images for the last however long since I couldn’t be bothered, but I suppose the values as well as the plants have changed, so I got some new pictures:

I did try to play some Splinterlands in the evening, but I didn’t have the patience for it. Only about a day left in the season, so I’m considering just leaving it as it is.

No rewards today, but there is still a chance to get caught up again if I’m willing to deal with playing on the last day of the season.

My SPS drop continues to decay by the day. 😡 Been hoarding DEC and holding onto packs and blahdy blahdy to keep it stable, but I just can’t seem to do it. Just staked it anyway and starting to get insanely antsy to pull out some vouchers, but didn’t today.

Thought about doing my Wordles today, but it got late again and I chose to play Splinterlands instead…need to start doing them in the morning again. It takes quite a bit of mental effort, I’m by the time I think about it, the idea just isn’t fathomable.
