My Splinterlands Morning Routine

Good Morning.png

With so much going on in the Splinerlands ecosystem and the cryptocurrency market as a whole, keeping track of everything can become overwhelming quite quickly. So today, I thought I would share some of my daily routines to stay informed of what is going on in Splinterlands and the general market and tend to my daily business managing my accounts.

My Morning Routine:

  1. BASICS - Drink Water, Stretch, Make Morning Drinks
  2. INFO - Read "Morning Brew" E-newsletter, Check Market Sites
  3. ASSETS - Check Rewards, Open Packs, Claim Yield, Distribute Rentals
  4. SOCIALS - Discord, Twitter, PeakD, 3Speak, YouTube

THE BASICS

The first group of routines doesn't have much to do with Splinterlands or crypto specifically, but they are essential for me to start the day. Upon waking up, I keep the mobile phone closed until I complete my first three habits:

  1. Drink a nice tall cup of water, because after a night of sleep most of us are dehydrated upon rising.

  2. Complete a short 5-minute yoga routine to stretch my muscles and promote blood flow throughout my body. I incorporate these stretches to get going: forward fold, down dog, plank, up dog and torso twists.

  3. Make our specialty morning drinks, coffee for my partner and a protein shake for myself. I never got too deep into the caffeine lifestyle, but my partner sure is. We have a Keurig, but I make sure to use a refillable K-cup with whatever tasty whole beans were on sale at Costco. For myself, I blend a plant-based protein mix with some matcha green tea powder, mushroom powder and green plant powder for a little extra boost to my morning protein shake.

THE INFO

Next, I fire up my email and check out Morning Brew, a fun, daily, financial markets email newsletter to give me a backdrop for current events of the day affecting the general financial market. Then I navigate to CoinGecko to see how the general crypto market is doing, and finally, I load the homepage for Splintercards to see the market movements for Splinterlands assets like SPS, DEC, VOUCHERS, HIVE and estimated average pack value.

THE ASSETS

Now it is finally time to log into my Splinterlands accounts. I actually operate four accounts for different purposes:

  1. @ducecrypto is my main account that battles in max leagues.
  2. @treycrypto is a modern alt account that battles in gold league.
  3. @shaelien is a wild alt account that battles in gold league.
  4. @gigacrypto is my rental account that rents in-demand cards priced over 0.2 DEC/day.

I mainly play the two alts for brawl and to level up rank at the start and end of a season. I typically have a low-rep automated battling service playing these accounts for me. I have been very pleased so far with the results from the @archmage.app service and would recommend checking out its Discord server if you are in the market for a bot to battle on some of your accounts. Because Archmage automatically claims my focus rewards daily, my first action is to check what rewards I received by using SplinterShare, a very handy site for tracking earned rewards.

If I earned enough potions to open Chaos Legion packs with five of each potion, I will transfer packs from my main account to the alt account to crack the packs with potions. Then I will transfer the owned cards, both CL and Rewards, to my two renting accounts: my main account receives and rents all commons and low-demand rare cards that rent for less than 0.2 DEC/day, while my rental account receives and rents all rare, epic and legendary cards that rent for at least 0.2 DEC/day. Finally, before I log off of the alt accounts, I make sure to claim those staked SPS rewards to get them earning more yield!

Then I pop over to @peak-monsters to see how my rental account GigaCrypto is fairing. I check a few metrics like the cards' ROA, how many cards are not listed for rent and how many cards are listed for rent but not rented. The last thing I do on the rental alt is transferring the daily DEC earnings back to my main account.

Last, but certainly not least, I log into my main account DuceCrypto. I claim my staked SPS rewards as well as my liquidity pool (LP) rewards, since I run the LPs through my main. Next, I'm off to BeeSwap, my preferred front-end platform to interact with the Hive Blockchain, so I can adjust my contributions to the different LPs I hold positions in. I like to add a little bit of my earnings to the LPs each day, to make sure my assets are compounding the earned yield daily.

Then I'm back to the game platform to check if I have enough earned potions to open any more packs. The last stop is PeakMonsters to make sure all the newly acquired low-value cards are set to rent at the market low price.

THE SOCIALS

Off to the most fun part of the morning, catching up on Splinterlands news by scrolling through my socials. First stop is Discord, where I go see what's popping in my guild servers for @shield-of-glory, @the420syndicate and @zensports. Then I slide over to the official Splinterlands server, where I flip through the alpha and gold mine channels to see if anyone posted deals I'm interested in.

Next, I check up on some of the asset-specific channels like tokenomics, validator nodes and land expansion, before turning to the competitive channels for tournaments and brawls. I'll finish up my Discord binge by catching up with what is going down in the Maverick chat.

Twitter is the next social stop, where there is more crypto and NFT content than Splinterlands content, but this is also slowly changing for the better. I'm doing my best to more regularly post Splinterlands content, including Tweeting out my articles, so give a follow to get in on the action. I'm following back fellow battlemages to increase the number of Splinterlands players in my Twitter community.

My Crypto Twitter Profile

My last stop of the morning is to check out what my favorite content creators are saying about the latest developments in Splinterlands. I'll start with my following feed on the Hive Blockchain: PeakD for print content and 3Speak for video content. Some of my favorite content creators are @synist3r (AKA CryptMancer), @hawks21, @aftersound, @bulldog1205 and @agaprime. I much prefer to consume my content via Hive, but oftentimes these content creators only post their videos to YouTube, so the Google-owned video platform is still a necessary evil (for now).

THE END

Once I've sufficiently consumed the content I need to get a grasp on the Splinterlands, it's finally time to jam some battles before I check-in for work. Hopefully, this article was a success in providing some insight into my morning Splinterlands routine and supplying some food for thought.

What DO YOU DO to get started with Splinterlands each day? I would love to hear what your morning routines are like, maybe there is something important I'm missing. Please share your feedback in the comment section below.

Thanks for reading and happy battling!

I would only drink water in the morning and some non-dairy milk with my cereal. Now with the protein shake, I have a much more well-balanced drink/meal to start my day.

I didn't know about Morning Brew... cool newsletter. Thanks for sharing it.
And for me, coffee is essential the morning, 2 shots for the brain to function properly 😀
I have to manage the Monster's rentings a little better but the motivation is coming back... the summer is ending so the time at home is getting longer 😀
Have a great day
