The Runi Project:

With all the hype and fomo yesterday around the Riftwatchers presale, and the node sales, we would almost forget that there is a new sherrif coming to town. It's Runi!

Yesterday the team released the official details obout the Runi project. Each Runi will be an unique nft, that will look different than every other Runi. That's what makes this special. Yours might be a badass warrior, while mine looks more like a cute lil strider. This has never been seen in Splinterlands, so it's an awesome development. The Runis will also provide a unique avatar to the player, So that u will be able to show off your Runi status!

Card details:

The Runi will be an legendary neutral card. That means u can almost always use it! We all know that opportunity is an awesome ability. Then we have the new Rebirth ability. It's a similar ability to resurection, but it just apllies to the Runi itself. After death he will come back to life, without status effects, with 1 hp and 1 armor. That's insane!
The true strike ability is also great, very much because of the 1 speed. Because of the 1 speed, he is a must play in reverse speed matches! The reflection shield makes sure Runi won't get damaged by blast or thorns damage. All and all a great card!

The sale:

The Runis will be sold at Open Sea (Ethereum blockchain) on the 25th of October. Splinterlands players will get the opportunity to purchase a whitelist for the Runi project on the Splinterlands website in about six days. The whitelisting will cost 100 vouchers and will make sure u have your spot to buy a Runi on the 25th of October.
There are 2000 whitelistings available, so they will probably sell out in an instant! Why so desireable you ask? You will get a 50% discount from the whitelisting, that's why! Instead of $500 you will be paying $250! That makes the value of the vouchers $2.50.

Why on the Ethereum blockchain?

I can hear u ask this question, and it is undoubtly a good one. Let me say this: THERE ARE BIG WHALES ON ETHEREUM!
The nfts that are selling on Open Sea can go to ridiculous prices. Those nfts aren't even used in a game! So you can imagine what that could potentially do to the Runis. And eventually lure some whales to the Splinterlands!

How can I use the card in the game?
You will be able to stake the nft on Ethereum. You will stake it to your hive account, then the team will send u the unique card to use in the game!

Conclusion:

For high level players the Runi is a must have. A Neutral card with so much utility can't be overlooked. After the sale we will start to see alot of Runi's in Diamond and Champion. We will also see peoples unique avatars a.k.a. Runis! If you are a player or investor, this seems like a nice opportunity to get your hands dirty!
