Hello Splinterlands community! The most awaited moment of the week is here, the Weekly Challenge, where we can expose our battles and opinions regarding a specific card.

Cruel Sethropod

And this week the Cruel Sethropod will be our focus on this poster. This crustacean belonging to the Legion of Chaos cards is a unit of the water element of common rarity. At level 1 this card has (1) melee attack, (3) armor, (4) health, and (1) speed, all at a mana cost of (3), which to me is a very generous exchange.

This card can be used in battles, where the combat rules require low mana, the Little League is an example, where we can only play with cards with a mana cost less than or equal to (4).

As we can see in the image below, this card does not have any abilities, that is, it can be used as a mini tank, or a discard tank before the main tank. At maximum level, it has (3) melee attack, (7) health and (6) armor which makes it interesting and (2) speed (a slow card), great for battle with the Reverse Speed ​​rule.

The battle

The combat rules for this match were (18) mana cost and Reverse Speed, where slower cards attack first. I confess that at the time of this battle I was distracted and I ended up not paying attention to the Reverse Speed ​​rule, as I only had two elements available for battle, water and life, I chose to choose the water deck for the low amount of mana available.

My enemy apparently didn't pay attention to the rules of combat either and ended up making the same mistake. He chose the same Summoner,Kelya Frendul to give (+1) armor and speed, the latter buff becoming a debuff with the Reverse Speed ​​rule.

Also, we both chose cards with the Slow ability, which slows the enemy by (-1) speed, which makes the enemy faster by the Reverse Speed ​​rule. I chose Creeping Ooze and my opponent the mighty Baakijira. However, luckily for both of us, our choices ended up leveling our battle equally, because if you realize there is a nullification of these abilities, at least initially.

In battles with low mana, I usually choose to put as many cards as I have, as the probability of winning a match is greater. Initially, we chose Torrent Fiend, a card with (1) physical attack and (0) mana cost, a distraction unit and if it manages to deal (1) damage to the enemy tank it's already a good size.

Then I climbed our star this week Cruel Sethropod, he's great for holding melee and ranged attacks for the amount of armor and health. So, if you scale him to tank, keep that in mind, because if the opponent chooses magic units, you will be in deep trouble.

Soon after, I chose Pelacor Bandit a melee attack card with the Sneak ability, which attacks the last position card. The problem is that it is a fast (4) speed card and as I mentioned I didn't pay attention to the Reverse Speed ​​rule.

To work together with Pelacor Bandit I chose Coral Wraith a card with (2) magic attack that also has the Sneak ability. So my basic strategy was to hold back enemy attacks from the first position and attack the units that are in the last position.

Finally, I chose a card to heal our tank, Merdaali Guardian, in case it lost health during a round, but on second thought, my choice was not so wise, as the Cruel Lobster doesn't have that much health. Could have chosen a unit to deal more damage to the enemy. To protect our rear unit I chose the Creeping Ooze.

Olá comunidade Splinterlands! É chegado o momento mais esperado da semana o Desafio Semanal, onde podemos expor nossas batalhas e opiniões a respeito de uma carta específica.

Cruel Sethropod

E esta semana o Cruel Sethropod será o nosso foco neste pôster. Este crustáceo pertencente as cartas da Legião do Caos é uma unidade do elemento água de raridade comum. No nível 1 essa carta possui (1) de ataque corpo a corpo, (3) de armadura, (4) de vida e (1) de velocidade, tudo isso a um custo de mana de (3), que para mim é uma troca bem generosa.

Essa carta pode ser utilizada em batalhas, onde as regras de combates requerem baixa mana, a liga dos pequenos (Little League) é um exemplo, onde só podemos jogar com cartas com custo de mana menor ou igual a (4).

Como podemos ver na imagem abaixo esta carta não possui nenhuma habilidade, ou seja, ela pode ser utilizada como um mini tanque, ou um tanque de descarte antes do tanque principal. No nível máximo, ela chega a possui (3) de ataque corpo a corpo, (7) de vida e (6) de armadura o que a deixa interessante e (2) de velocidade (uma carta lenta), ótima para batalha com a regra Reverse Speed.

A Batalha

As regras de combate dessa partida foram (18) de custo de mana e Reverse Speed, onde as cartas mais lentas atacam primeiro. Confesso que no momento da escalação desta batalha estava distraído e acabei não me atentando a regra de Reverse Speed, como só tinha dois elementos disponíveis para batalha, água e vida, optei por escolher o deck de água pela pouca quantidade de mana disponível.

Meu inimigo aparentemente também não se atentou as regras de combate e acabou cometendo o mesmo erro. Ele escolheu o mesmo Summoner, Kelya Frendul que dar (+1) de armadura e velocidade, este último buff se tornar um debuff com a regra Reverse Speed.

Além disso, ambos escolhemos cartas com a habilidade Slow, que deixa o inimigo lento em (-1) de velocidade, o que faz o inimigo fique mais rápido pela regra Reverse Speed. Eu escolhi Creeping Ooze e meu oponente o poderoso Baakijira. Porém, para sorte de ambos nossas escolhas acabaram nivelando igualmente nossa batalha, pois se perceberem existe uma anulação dessas habilidades pelo menos inicialmente.

Em batalhas com pouca mana, geralmente, escolho colocar o maior número possui de cartas, pois a probabilidade de vencer uma partida é maior. Inicialmente, escolhemos o Torrent Fiend, um carta com (1) de ataque físico e (0) custo de mana, uma unidade de distração e se conseguir dar (1) de dano ao tanque inimigo já está de bom tamanho.

Depois, escalei a nossa estrela dessa semana Cruel Sethropod, ele é ótimo para segurar ataque corpo a corpo e a distância pela quantidade de armadura e vida. Então, caso você escale ele para tanque tenha isso em mente, pois se o oponente escolher unidade mágicas vocês estará bem encrencado.

Logo após, escolhi Pelacor Bandit uma carta de ataque corpo a corpo com a habilidade Sneak, que atacar a carta da última posição. O problema que ela é uma carta rápida (4) de velocidade e como tinha mencionado não me atentei a regra Reverse Speed.

Para trabalhar em conjunto com o Pelacor Bandit escolhi o Coral Wraith uma carta com (2) de ataque mágico que também possui a habilidade Sneak. Então, minha estratégia básica foi segurar os ataques inimigo da primeira posição e atacar as unidades que ficam na última posição.

Por fim, escolhi uma carta para curar nosso tanque, Merdaali Guardian, caso perdesse vida durante alguma rodada, mas pensando bem minha escolha não foi tão sabia, pois a Lagosta Cruel não tem tanta vida assim. Poderia ter escolhido uma unidade para causar mais dano ao inimigo. Para proteger nossa unidade de retaguarda escolhi o Creeping Ooze.
