THE CARD

This week’s challenge is about Crystal Jaguar.

Crystal Jaguar is a 4 Mana Melee Life Monster with high health and gains the ability Thorns at Level 4 and Retaliate at Level 9. Because of this, Crystal Jaguar is normally positioned as a tank, but for this battle, I opted to place Crystal Jaguar in the backline.

THE BATTLE

Battle Rules
50 Mana
Super Sneak: All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
Lost Magic: Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.

My Line Up

Because of Super Sneak, I decided that for this battle, Crystal Jaguar will be most effective in the last position. This means all of my opponents Melee Monsters not on the first position will attack my Crystal Jaguar and will be damaged from its Thorns ability.

My other Monsters were just your high mana, high stats Melee monsters who will also be able to attack because of Super Sneak. They would also be buffed by my Silvershield Knight. On a side note, I'm not sure why I fielded in my Feral Spirit rather than my Sand Worm, especially since I only used 37 out of the 50 Mana I could use.

Anyways, what I planned for exactly happened in this match. And even though my Crystal Jaguar fell in the first round, it was the obvious MVP because it managed to clear 5 of the Divine Shields from the ability of my opponent’s Lorna Shine. Afterwards, my team easily swept his team.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Hovering in the Silver League, my favorite team to use is the Life Sneak archetype. And while Crystal Jaguar would only be my second choice as a tank versus Silvershield Knight, it definitely has it place in a lot of different scenarios.
