End of my First Season

You can read if interested the first week of the season. However, strong of my 1 week experience in Splinterlands, I was less hesitant and more effective on the second one.

Day 8: Life focus

Ok, call me "cheap", but as I was on Life focus the day before, and I had a few hours before the end of my rentals, I played just a bit to let my ECR regenerate and take advantage of what remained of the rented cards. I don't like playing Life anyway, so I didn't want to spend more ECR than needed on it.

Earnings: 6 focus chests (31 DEC, 1 Rare, 1 Gold Pelacor Conjurer!)

Day 9: Life focus

Again... And I don't like Life... I feel like they are quite crappy on low mana matches, and playing in Bronze 1, I have to play quite a lot of low mana matches... I got plenty of defeats, and while I was at a rating of around 1150 before the 3 days of Life focus, I ended up at a rating of barely 830.

Cost: 45 DEC of rent
Earnings: 9 focus chests (20 DEC, 1 Epic, 4 Commons)

Day 10: Earth focus

Ah! Finally a focus I know how to play! (or is it that it's just over-powered?) I still went on the conservative side on the renting: I had to raise my rating first anyway. Which I did. Just around 1000 or so.

Cost: 19 DEC of rent
Earnings: 14 focus chests (82 DEC , 2 Commons)

Day 11: Death focus

No real progression that day, I still don't really have a hang on playing Death. They have some good cards, but maybe inferior compared to others.

Day 12: Earth focus

Here I was at just above a rating of 1000. I decided to rent the extra cards to go play in SilverIII. So I went on Gold as much as (reasonably) possible. Best cards for Gold on a budget are the cards you're likely to use often: low mana, main tank (even if more expensive, I think the bonus worth it), even gold summoner if not too expensive. Then a couple of Epic/Legendary that pleases my eyes, and then I look at my Collection Power to see how much is still missing, before looking for bargains on Collection power. I pushed until a rating of 1200, and so far it is my best day of chests earned.

Cost: 64 DEC of rent
Earnings: 17 chests (27 DEC, 6 Commons)

Day 13: Water focus

Same strategy as the day before: load up on golds to get the highest Collection Power available to push and make use of my rating. It was my first time playing with Water, and it was quite pleasant. I found it quite polyvalent and pushed my rating to 1700. With the different bonuses, that made me around 3500 Rshare per win.

Cost: 53 DEC of rent
Earnings: 20 chests (165 DEC, 4 Commons, 1 Rare)

Day 14: Death focus

I was going for the same strategy, but? The price increase in the renting market the last day of the season is not a myth! I was unable to find reasonnably cheap Collection Power, so I decided to just play in Bronze 1 for the last day. Pushing to Silver 3 would have cost me an additionnal 140 DEC.

Cost: 58 DEC of rent
Earnings: 14 focus chests (160 DEC, 2 Commons, 1 Rare)

Balance-sheet of the season

I spent 322 DEC on the rents.
I got from the 124 focus chests 774 DEC (average 6.2 per chest) and 32 cards (25% of chests) including 1 Epic and 1 Gold Foil. So I'm already happy with the results of the season and the 446 DEC of profit.

I also managed to collect 69 Season chests, which brought me 635 DEC, 12 Commons, 10 Rares and 2 Epics.

I end up my first season with a rating of 1700 and a collection power of 1180.

Now I worry about next season. I will be hunting Silver chests. But if I understand correctly, silver chests are 16 times more difficult to get, for only 2 or 3 times the rewards? I hope I'm wrong, because that looks bad...
Yeah, in the meantime, I confirm I'm not wrong. 5000 Rshares to unlock the first daily chests, that won't make a lot by the end of the day...
