MERDHAMPIR

Hello friends! In this opportunity I will tell you about another process of this illustration that I made for the @splinterlands contest, I chose a card from the Water unit called: "MERDHAMPIR" since its origin is interesting because no one would have thought that a mermaid could seduce a vampire and thus spawn a new lethal creature that terrorizes the seas, using a large trident that uses to catch their prey and drag back into the water with a long thin chain attached to the weapon.

AND THE PROCESS BEGINS:

1.jpg

Friends I always start the process, drawing the sketch with some rustic lines and very basic, I do this to have an idea of what I want to do and the size of everything I will do, this time I wanted to do it on a throne and pose as if I were the master of the sea.

Secondly I chose to do with the Lasso Tool the outline of the whole character, including the head, arms, torso and tail, then I filled with the Paint Bucket with a light blue tone as a base, then I saturated the color to make the shadows, then I lightened more the base color to make the light that reflects on the face, arms and torso, all this I did with the Airbrush as well as the mouth and nose, then I did the hair with the Hair Brush. The scales of the tail I made them with a Texture Brush and then I applied the same as in the body for the shadow and lights.

In this part I focused on making the throne I wanted to do it with a crab legs and a seashell on the back, they are things that are part of the sea, for its realization I used the Airbrush and erased where it protruded to define the throne, I used a gray tone to make it concrete then I darkened more this tonality for the shadows and to make the lines that define this same, I placed some white minimum points. Then I made the ears and the fin of the head with the brush already mentioned before, as well as the trident, then I duplicated it and made a Gaussian Blur to make it shine. Then without defining much I started to make part of the background, making in the upper part the water that is close to the surface and a mound where the throne is and some algae.

Finally my dear friends, I made the seabed using various brushes that brings the Krita program, as the Leaves Brush, Grass for the algae using different colors, the Airbrush and Spray Brush for the rocks, the sharks with the same Airbrush and applied a Motion Blur, with the same brush I made the sand in the background and water. And I made more blue algae, then I made the chains with a pattern that brings this program, I also made the wings with the Airbrush and the small crab, then I applied some flashes of brightness to the trident, then I made several white lines and applied a Gaussian Blur to simulate the light that hits the surface of the sea in another layer I did the same but this time the light reaches further down the water and to finish with the Splash Brush I made the bubbles that go upwards.
