Hey there my incredible Splinterlands community,
How are you all today? I hope you're doing great with Splinterlands battles and earning a good amount of SPS.

The game Splinterlands showers its blessings on the lucky ones (I'm not that lucky obviously). I read this post yesterday and found that the top 3 leaderboard players earned over $1000 in last season's rewards.

Well, congratulations to the top 3 leaderboard players @bcsthehung1989 @toocurious @stever82 for your performances and rewards.
And @chaoscommander for the post.

Anyway, the Splinterlands team brought another 'Share Your Battle Challenge' and this week's featured monster is ANGELIC MANDARIN.

Just like the previous challenges, I'll share my best battle of this week using the Angelic Mandarin in my team.
I'll also share my strategy, team combination, and thoughts about the Angelic Mandarin.

As this card is not in my collection, I'll share a battle from my alt-account. I rented a level 4 Angelic Mandarin just to complete this battle challenge.

So, read on...

THE LORE

Share Your Battle Angelic Mandarin.png

The sailor sunk deep into the depths of the cold water. He closed his mouth tightly, trying to preserve any air he had left. But the violent shipwreck had knocked the wind out of him. Trails of blood from his wounds blossomed into the water around him.

His mind told him to swim. Swim up and to air. Swim up and live. But his body wouldn't cooperate. Just as he felt unconsciousness tugging at him, there was movement. The glimmer of bright colors through the dark of the water.

A single fish swam to him. It was beautiful; it glowed with an internal light. The fish looked directly into his eyes. He stared back, barely hanging on to consciousness.

And then suddenly a surge of energy went through him. His wounds closed, and his lungs were filled with air. The fish turned and swam off. And the sailor kicked up to the surface of the water.

BATTLE STATS AND ABILITIES OF THE ANGELIC MANDARIN

Before I share my strategy and the battle, let's talk about the stats and abilities of this card.
Kindly note that it's a free-tier card. So you can use it without owning or renting it. But to get profitable of its use, you must own or rent the card.

The Angelic Mandarin is a Rare Water unit card from the Chaos Legion edition.
This ranged attack card costs 3 mana to use in the battle which makes this card a low-mana-cost card.
Talking about the abilities, this monster has the 'triage' ability starting from level 4, which makes this card able to heal the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage.
At the highest level, i.e level 8 it gains the 'silence' ability. With this ability, it has an increased chance of evading melee and ranged attacks.
Stats of this card also increases through levels, from 1 ranged attack, 2 speeds, and, 5 health in level 1, to 1 ranged attack, 3 speeds, and 6 health in level 4.
At the highest level 8, the stats of this card are 2 ranged attacks, 4 speeds, and, 7 health.

What is the best ruleset and summoner to use Angelic Mandarin ?

As it's a ranged attack card, therefore the best rulesets to use Angelic Mandarin are based on ranged attacks, like 'close range'.
Apart from that, we can use this melee attack card in any battle except the 'broken arrows', where you can't use any ranged attack monster.
The other rulesets we can use this card successfully, are 'little league', 'odd ones out', 'target practice' etc.
About the use of summoner, Kelya Frendul from the Water splinter is a good combo with this card as it increases its speed to +1 and provides +1 armor.
Alternatively, the summoner Selenia Sky from the Dragon splinter is also a good choice as it does the +1 ranged attack buff.

Now, it's time to share my strategy and the lineup for the best battle I won using the Angelic Mandarin in my team.

My Strategy and Team Setup

As one of the rulesets was Melee Mayhem, I was certain that my opponent will use the melee attack team.
So I planned to use my strongest magic attack team. I used 2 monsters, the Spirit Miner and the Ruler Of The Seas with the 'swiftness' ability to gain a speed advantage.
Venari Wavesmith was there with the 'protect' ability for additional armor to protect from the melee attacks.
Finally, the Angelic Manadarin with the 'triage' ability to heal the back-line monsters that deal with the sneak and snipe attacks.
So, here's my team-

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked like a charm in this battle.
As I used 2 monsters with the speed buff, my team is faster than my opponent's team and my monsters attacked first.
A few of the opponent's monsters missed the attacks due to the high speed of my monsters.
The extra armor provided by the Venari Wavesmith helped the friendly team to block a few attacks from the opponent team.
And the Angelic Mandarin heals the Captain's Ghost.
My team devastated the opponent team without losing a single friendly team monster and secured the winning.

My Takes On The Angelic Mandarin

The Angelic Mandarin is a very good card that cost only 3 mana to use it in the battle, which makes it a perfect card for the 'little league' releset.
This card has enough health and a useful 'triage' ability that can be a game changer in any battle.
The only thing lacking here is a summoner with the ranged attack buff from the water splinter. I hope in the next card expansion, we can see a summoner from the water splinter that has the range attack buff ability.
Apart from that, the Angelic Mandarin can be an angelic card when your opponent uses sneak and snipe monsters. Just make sure to protect this card from the strong sneak attack.
