Splinterlands - EOS Rewards & Strategy Debate

Another season is over and this was one of the more exciting ones I experienced so far. With the new Chaos Legion Release it was very interesting to see how the strategies will develop and which cards are most likely to be used. Also it was very interesting to see how the prices developed over time. In this article I want to talk about the past season, what I was up to and how my Chaos Legion Introduction went. Furthermore, I want to show my season rewards and talk about my upcoming strategy for the next few months.

Season Overview

My Season started of very slow, I was not able to battle a lot so I just did the weekly quests. All in all my daily quest rewards weren’t overwhelming but I managed to get some reward cards which is always nice and increases the Collection Power. The majority of my rewards were Credits though, which I find very disappointing after a while. This is why I am trying to get out of the Bronze Leagues as quickly as possible but more on that later. I managed to finish in Silver 2 if you just look at the Rating points but because my CP is not that high so far I am only getting the Bronze 2 rewards.

Furthermore, I discovered that by the end of the season the renting prices for cards go through the roof. Yes, after this much time I also managed to figure this out! :D This is why I was able to collect some nice renting rewards as I did not have enough CP to reach the next level. In the future season I will definitely rent out some more cards at the end of the season and only keeping the necessary amount of cards that allow me to collect higher rewards.

On the 8th of December, it was finally there: Chaos Legion. I must admit that I thought I was smart by getting into the market early and take advantage of the early sellers as I thought the market would not know how to prize the new cards. I was concentrating on the summoners because my thought process was that they you are needing them in every battle while the normal monsters you can chose to use or not. At the time of buying I was very happy about my purchases but looking back I should have waited for at least a few days. Now the prices for the cards that I bought are more than 30% down and I would like to kick myself into my butt but such is life and I will try not to make the same mistake in January. Why January? Because then the General Sale will start, and a lot of people wo are not having any vouchers like myself will be able to buy the new packs. That is why I am expecting that the card prices will drop even more. Until then I need to set up a target for my CP and make a plan on which teams I am planning on using.

My EOS Rewards & Future Plans

Moving on to my EOS Rewards I must admit that I am not particularly happy with them. I think that two out of 7 reward cards is very good, but as always people like to have more and I am no exception. I was very confident to get a rare or even an epic this time but I guess I will have to wait for next time.

Speaking of next time, I am definitely planning on promoting myself to at least Bronze 1 in next season. Over this season and with the Chaos Legion Release I was able to pump myself up to almost 5k CP. I am pretty confident that I will reach 5k CP by the end of the next season which would allow me to obtain two Loot chests more but it is something.

Furthermore, I am planning on renting out my cards every other day and playing with them every other day to maximize my profits in the long run. This way I hope to obtain more cards quicker and therefore grow faster. Additionally, to that I discovered for myself the staking of SPS. With my growing CP and growing DEC amount I am able to obtain a bigger amount of SPS every day. I really hope to achieve around 10 SPS by the end of the year. I know this does not sound that much but I really want to grow everything as “organic” as possible.

This is because I am not planning on investing a huge amount of money yet. The only money that I am now planning on additionally investing is to purchase some CL packs from the general sale and maybe use the opportunity of a flooded market to obtain cards to boost my CP as well as building teams with which I can comfortably win in the lower Silver Divisions. From there I am planning on using all the cards that are exceeding the necessary CP level to rent out so that I can have a stable DEC cash flow every day. Depending on the market and game condition I will be able to do this either sooner or later but as long as this game is fun for me I am willing to invest some time into the game!

Conclusion

This brings me to the conclusion of this article. With the recent crypto drop the prices of the cards also dropped. I guess we are heading slowly into a bear market or are even in one. I really hope that this game will survive such a dry period of crypto, but I am very optimistic about that. I really believe in the developer team and I also think that this game still have a lot of potential. With the upcoming split into wild and modern format more exciting things are about to come. This makes me excited for the future and if the prices will continue to drop like they are now it could mean a good opportunity to buy some more cards to proceed in the divisions. What are your thoughts? Were the cards too overpriced or will the prices of cards rise again after the CL pack sale is over?
