HBD * New Splinterlands Goals Added * Progress Report Week 15, 2022

avatar

This week has been under the sign of 20% APR for HBD in savings. There were many (mainly positive) reactions to that news. And even further development, to build a deep liquidity pool for HBD on PolyCub. The pool is already launched, building the liquidity up will take some time.

Yesterday came a proposal (not an official one asking for funds) detailing a well thought-out plan laid out by 3Speak to build a decentralized bitcoin fund using HIVE from the DHF as a partial insurance for keeping the peg of HBD above a certain level. This would add another level of assurance to the outside world looking at HBD as a stablecoin to invest in.

Regarding my HBD goal for this year to reach 5000 HBD, this goal goal refers to native HBD alone, either liquid or in savings, or time-locked for a longer period (like one year).

I haven't considered SWAP.HBD to that goal, that's why I swapped them to HBD whenever I considered necessary. I won't consider pHBD to that goal, whether it'll be liquid or in the pool. That doesn't mean that I won't be interested in the pHBD:USDC pool, there are reasons to have stablecoins there as well, but I won't count them to my HBD goal for this year.

How do my HBD and HIVE goals look like this week? Not much changed, without the push from the significant purchases I made earlier in the year I drift away from the targets:

New Splinterlands Goals Added

My main goals this year remain to reach 25000 HP and 5000 HBD, but I have other goals that require focus and funds, and which keep me from pushing harder on my main goals.

I decided to add two of them to my weekly post, although a weekly report seems too often for them to see any changes.

My Splinterlands goals for now (I won't say this year, because there will be others as well until the end of year), are:

  • to reach 100,000 SPS staked, ideally until the airdrop is over
  • to upgrade ALL Chaos Legion cards either to MAX LEVEL, or to a limit level I consider to be the max I'll be upgrading a certain card (there are cards that do not deserve to be upgraded to max level or even at all - in my opinion, of course)

The situation with staked SPS is as follows:
image.png

In this report, I won't count any number of cards that I don't want to max, because to be honest, I want to take a second look at them before taking that decision.

While I have brought many cards in the CL set to mid levels so far, so they can be useful in battles, I have a limited number of maxed cards from the CL set for now: 1 summoner, and among monsters: 7 legendaries and 1 epic card. Looks like I'll need much more work for this goal.

Let's do some tables.

Rare SummonersMaxed
61
Legendary SummonersMaxed
--
Common MonstersMaxedReached Max Desired Level
290?
Rare MonstersMaxedReached Max Desired Level
230?
Epic MonstersMaxedReached Max Desired Level
171?
Legendary MonstersMaxedReached Max Desired Level
237?

To max all these cards (except those I decide not to), won't be an easy endeavor. It should be easier to reach 100k SPS staked, hopefully.

And finally, let's see the social targets.

I started the week with 7194 comments and 7417 replies.

And now I am at 7309 comments and 7540 replies (passed the 7500 milestone!). Obviously they are both above my targets of 81 comments and 76 replies weekly to reach 10k of each by the year's end, which is good!

Two other milestones I marked this week already with proper posts. One, I passed the threshold of 2000 staked LISTNERDS and the other, I reached level 75 at Rising Star.

Damn these are some goals :O

100k SPS is definetly a good investment, especially when the airdrop is over, the price will probably sky rocket.

How are you able to build up your HP so fast though. I have currently around 500 HP my goal is to have around 1k HP by the end of the year. 25k would be a dream! I guess it is because you already have around 15k :D

Your guess is right. You earn more from curation or by delegating your HP once you have a higher amount of it. But still, my goals for HP will be very challenging to achieve this year.

As for the SPS, besides the social targets, this is my easiest target to achieve, I believe. And would have reached higher amounts if I had kept all of my airdrop since the beginning. And I agree, SPS will be very valuable in the future, and I'll be happy to own 100k+ of them when the price pumps hard.

Wow! That is huge! I'm upgrading my cards slowly, but I will probably wait for the next edition cards to max them out... 😃 At this moment, summoners to level 7, and cards to get to their supported levels and that's it... Maybe next year I will chase max levels :)

Good luck with your goals!

The problem with waiting is they will be way more expensive after the CL set is sold out! I tried that in the past and only afforded to max a couple of them.

I understand that, as there is no chance to upgrade Beta cards now, for example... But, I know that I will not have enough resources to max level CL, and when the next edition cards come out, I will try to do them... and not CL... For example, I was doing Beta cards until lvl 5-6.... (summoners)... The plan is to level up CL to lvl7, and the next edition cards maybe to max... :)

Ah, I got it. I thought you meant you'll do CL then.

Those Splinterland goals are pretty ambitious but I think it's a good time to buy cards right now due to the prices. Last I saw, I think it's less than 10k to get a full maxed out chaos legion deck but I don't think I will go that far.

Yeah, what I want to do is reinvest earnings, which will make me dependent on those and the prices of DEC and maybe vouchers and SPS. I will likely not max the entire set (with airdrops and everything), because after checking out some cards I wanted to upgrade in the past, they weren't worth pushing to max.

One question: are you planning to take a SPS Validator license? I'm wandering how many people will go for it...

No. I believe it makes sense if it's put to work, and I wouldn't do that. For speculation purposes it's not worth buying it, in my opinion. Much better holding on to SPS. But there will be plenty of interest for them, at least for the lower tiers. The license is forever, which makes it an interesting 'mining' option, especially for people who already have the necessary equipment or rented server.

Thanks for giving a tech focused info blog. It is interesting to read all the different perspectives as crypto and Splinterlands prices go down. Doing away with daily quest seems interesting. Those give people a reason to play daily. Ranked battle payouts are for less than 1 penny per day up into gold level.
