Hello everyone! Here's Another article with some more tips from me.

Everyone wants to rise higher in ranking to get those sweet season reward chests and there are multiple ways how to do it..

You can spend a lot of DEC daily to rent fancy summoners and cards that would catapult your rating. But at the same time, it would make you more predictable for your opponents. That is if you rent only for a single deck. I'm looking at you Mylor, Llama, Kron, Yodin renters.

Plus they are rather expesive.

e.g. a level 2 Mylor would cost you ~40 DEC daily to rent. And I've seen on multiple occasions where people in the bronze league do that.

That is just for one card, add a couple more, or throw in another deck and we're looking at 100+ DEC spent daily just for rent. There isn't much room left for any profits.

Just so you, know I try to spend a maximum of ~50 DEC per day in rentals and that is for 2 to even 3 decks plus a couple of neutral cards so I can finish also my dailies.

Ok, I also do own right now a couple of additional cards, but it wouldn't cost that much to rent them anyway.

I'm in no way a pro card player, but I'm currently sitting at a 2k+ rating, which is well enough for the gold league for which I'm aiming at the end of the season. I still do make some stupid mistakes along the way, but I'm learning as I go. So can you.

You don't need a lot of fancy high cost cards to do well

There's another reason why you should restrain from using those nearly sure-win monsters/summoners. While they are surely fun, you learn less about different cards their combinations, and synergies.

And trust me, there are loads of interesting cards that you can use to counter a more expensive deck.

All you have to do is to pay attention to your opponent's last battles, current battle conditions, and come up with a strategy that will counter his deck.

That's my way of thinking - I try to anticipate the biggest threats and act accordingly to counter or mitigate them.

what about the cards?

Well, here are some ideas that you can run. I'll base my choices on my own experience and preferences. So I'll not include all the splinters.

Death splinter

This is one of my most favorite summoners. With the reflect ability your whole deck gains a very strong and deadly counter to magic monster-focused teams. Add Bone Golem (starter card) and laugh at your opponent destroying himself.

But this card is not only a niche summoner that works only against a full magic deck. I've used him against players that have only some magic monsters if I see them as a threat or a key point to come out of the battle victorious.

If you can't afford to buy him, you can rent out a level 1 version which goes for ~4 DEC.

At first, you may look down on this card as at the first glance it provides no visible benefits - no attack, no defensive bonus, or a debuff to your opponent.

But pay attention to the mana cost and the health of this card. It's a very nice filler card that I've used in numerous situations and positions.

It can take multiple hits while protecting more important monsters while they deal damage. I find it invaluable in many fights.

Then there are two ranged cards with affliction ability that I've grown to like. One costs more to use and works better where the mana cost for the battle is higher while the other is a low-cost monster that works well in smaller mana battles.

The only downside is that affliction is based more on the chance, but personally, I found that it actually works quite reliably and is applied at a decent rate.

If you didn't know, then it will prevent any kind of healing for the affected monster. For a deck that relies on heling front line monster that is rather disastrous.

If you e.g. had problems with Flesh Golems self-healing ability + support healing from Wood Nymph, then these cards will deal with that problem.

They do magic also on other decks where the frontal tank has self-healing ability.

And that's basically it. With these couple additional cards from death splinter and your available starter cards, you can make some interesting combinations and gain a strong edge over your opponent.

Water splinter

For water splinter, you don't need to rent any additional summoners as both your starts - Alric and Bortus are just fine at level one.

Here we'll just look at monsters that can make an impact on your gameplay.

This is a bit costly monster to rent with ~14 DEC cost per day. But it's a great tank that in combination with Alric can dish out a lot of damage and at the same time take a lot of physical beating because of the shield ability.

Combine him with Crustacean King's (Starter card) healing ability and your opponent's melee team will struggle to bring him down.

If you think you'll be facing Alric you could use this card in combination with Bortus (will give -1 magic to the opponent's monsters).

In combination with the Void ability, he'll be very resilient. Add in the team Demented Shak for + 1 melee damage for all monsters on your team and watch the magic happening.

That should give you enough damage to eat away the opponent's armor even if he uses the new card - Venari Wavesmith which gives +2 to armor stat.

This is a deadly card if it's combined with Alric for additional damage. With 3 magic damage that goes straight for monsters' health and stealth ability, this card can take down a couple of opponents' monsters.

It's quite a common sight to see more squish monsters at the back of the deck so you can put high pressure on that end with this card.

This one is another card that is a bit costly to rent with 10+ DEC per day, but you may spot a deal sometimes where it goes for half the price.

This is the new chaos legion card that is rather popular. As you know then many magic monsters are rather squishy. This card takes care of that problem by adding +2 armor for all of your monsters. And on top of that, it also has a magic attack which increases its use even further.

It's a nice card to have if you're anticipating a melee team. Combine with Lobstradamus and tank away.

Dragon splinter

Dragon splinter is useful in various situations as you can combine it with any other splinter which can save you in many situations. There are many useful cards here, but I want to pay attention to two of them.

This summoner is very nice. It does not give you any extra attack stats, but instead, he gives the flying ability. It does not help only in evading your enemy attacks, but also provides full protection for your deck in case of earthquake battle rule.

Because of that, you can build your deck easier without worrying about the extra damage per round.

The best thing is that this card is dirt cheap to rent. A level one version is all you need and it costs only ~0.4 DEC per day.

This is another new card from the chaos legion. Even at level one, it is very strong - thick armor, big health stats, and a good melee attack.

But what's more surprising is that even at level one this card has thorns. If the battle rules say that the earth splinter can't be used (no Mylor) and it's a melee monster battle then this card gets more interesting.

Another interesting rule would be that all melee monsters have the sneak ability. Put this fellow at the back of the deck and watch your opponent destroying himself.

Neutral splinter

In this splinter, you can find a lot of very useful cards to use in your battles. Never look down on this one - it can increase your win rate dramatically.

There are multiple cards that I like and use from here.

Speed is a very important stat in this game and the possibility to adjust it can tip the battle in your favor. There are many monsters that have the slow ability, but it shows up only later in the game when they are of a higher level.

This fellow comes with it from the start. And level 1 for this card is all you need. It often is very important who strikes first and with the help of this guy, you can make sure that it's you.

This card has less use in the bronze league as only with a higher level this card gains his second ability - self-healing. But despite that this card in the bronze league has its use.

Most commonly it's used in a battle where the match has a rule about all monsters being poisoned. As monsters will dropping dead left and right this one will gain +1 health for each one. Quite often this one is the last one standing.

A deadly card with a sneak ability that can singlehandedly destroy the opponent's backline with correct conditions.

Its low speed could be an issue but despite that, I see it as a must-have card as it has helped me in numerous matches. It's quite useful if you spot a Llama + Kron combo where that later one will most likely be set more to the back. Combine this monster with other sneak monsters and put high pressure on him so he's not left as the last one standing.

And lastly, I can't avoid mentioning this fellow. It's the only monster in the game that costs 0 mana. It can save your hide in various situations be it front, back, or tucked in some other place depending on the match conditions.

Always rent out a chicken for your daily battles as even a single hit can determine if you'll win or lose.

And that's it. These are the cards that could greatly impact your battles and will not cost you an arm or a leg to rent/buy. Of course, don't expect to obtain them and win each and every battle you start.

You'll need to put them in combinations with other cards that are available to you plus observe your opponent. But if used right, you'll see an improvement in your overall win rate and rating.

Best advice - practice, practice, and then practice some more. You'll find your own strategy that works best for you.
