Another week, another Share Your Battle Challenge. This time the Monster in the spotlight is one of the best Sneak Monsters currently in the game, at least in my humble opinion, namely the Tenyii Striker. The truth is I use it so often when I spam my Fire Splinter focus that I could potentially get accused of abusing it but it is so good in almost all circumstances that I just can't help it.

Now before we get into the stats discussion of the Tenyii Striker, let's have a sneak peek into its LORE

Well I did not expect anything less from the Tenyii clan since it is pretty obvious that they are formidable warriors just by looking their depiction. They are no less fearsome on the virtual battle board, that is for sure.

Alright, we've got some idea of what an Tenyii Striker is, after glancing at its lore. Let us have a look at its stats and abilities at different key levels now.

image.png

  • Our Rare Monster starts off with its most important ability at level 1 - Sneak (targets the last Monster on the enemy team instead of the first one). I would venture to say, without really looking at statistics, that the Sneak ability is the most played Monster ability overall. I might be wrong about that but if it's not number 1 then it is at least in the top 3 most played abilities for sure. Apart from the Sneak ability, the Tenyii Striker begins its journey in the world of Splinterlands with 2 Melee Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor and 6 Health.
  • At level 3 it gains an additional attack point for a total of 3, which is pretty important for any damage dealer.
  • At level 4 it gains an additional ability - Dodge (has an increased chance of evading Melee and Ranged attacks) which is pretty good since it gives the Monster additional chance for survival.
  • At level 6 it gains one more attack point for a total of 4.
  • At level 7 it gains yet another ability - Backfire (if the enemy misses the Monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage) which is obviously great paired with Dodge.
  • Finally maxed out at level 8 it has 5 melee attack, 4 speed, 0 armor and 7 health. These are superb stats for the 5 mana cost of the Tenyii Striker, especially having in mind that it also has 3 abilities.

Now that we know what the card does (or doesn't do) at the different levels of play, let us have a look at the battle I have chosen to showcase.

<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BATTLE<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>

  • The line-up of the Battle and the Ruleset:

image.png

The rulesets for this battle are Spreading Fury (all Mosnters have the Enrage ability) and Rise of the Commons (Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles). The mana budget is very loose - 50, so I can basically freely choose to use whatever Monsters I want from those available to me, which are only Common and Rare ones obviously. The Splinter choice is limited to 2 Splinters (Fire and Dragon), and I can actually use any of them to showcase the Tenyii Striker but I will go with the one where I can use a higher level Summoner, namely the Fire Splinter.

The Antoid Platoon is a great little tank I love using whenever I feel it is the correct choice. This is one of the times where I found that it fit my battle plan. Since I am using a level 5 Tarsa, I can take advantage of its entry level ability - Scavenge, which can be crucial depending on the way the battle develops.

image.png

image.png

The 2nd place in the line-up goes to a Monster I love playing whenever possible and this is the Radiated Brute. I always feel compelled to use it with Tarsa when I'm build a mostly melee lineup.

image.png

image.png

The 3rd place in the line-up goes to the Disintegrator. I play it to hopefully lessen the blows my tank will be taking and also have it in 3rd spot to serve as a back-up tank should the enemy's frontal attacks prove to be more potent than expected.

The 4th spot goes to our protagonist for this week - the Tenyii Striker. I find this spot suitable for it in the current setup since I need it to have enough time to do its magic if there is anything magical about slaughtering the backline of the opponent that is.

image.png

image.png

5th in the line-up is the Supply Runner. It's a Monster I have already blogged about so you can find more details about it in my post (links at the end). I've included it here because of its Swiftness ability -> +1 Speed to all friendly Monsters. It's great for battles where hitting first is specifically important.

image.png

image.png

The last spot is reserved for the Molten Ash Golem. It's a great Monster for taking a bit of a beating from enemy "Sneakers", and it actually debuffs the enemy Monsters reducing their health by 1 point, which can be very crucial for the outcome of the battle.

image.png

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

  • The Summoner I am going with for the battle is Tarsa as I do not have any other level 5 Summoner (entry level for Gold league) you will likely see me play her in every Fire Splinter battle under the sun (at least for now). That's fine though cause I like her a lot. My enemy is rocking a level 3 Quix. However, even though their Quix can essentially support max level cards for Gold league they are certainly not taking any advantage of that fact so I actually stand a decent chance of winning this battle because of that.

image.png

  • After 1 round, no Monsters have been lost on both sides but both tanks are close to dying at this point. It seems that my Antoid Platoon will not escape certain death this turn even with the Scavenger ability as it will be the first Monster to fall this round by the looks of it.

image.png

  • At the start of Round 3 both tanks have perished as predicted and we have a face off between the Radiated Brute and a Gargoya Devil in the tanking seats. That won't last long for sure.

image.png

  • Round 4 - it seems that Round 3 was a very eventful round and all that is left for my team in R4 is to finish off the enemy's Supply Runner. That's right - no more supplies for your army, Mr Quix, and we all know what happens when you cut off the supply line of the enemy.

The Tenyii Striker is one of the best Sneak Monsters currently in the game. It can singlehandedly wreck the enemy's backline and also could actually act as a makeshift tank if it comes to that. It is specifically great for that from level 4 onwards due to its Dodge ability. The Tenyii Striker is currently valued at $0.58 per BCX, so make sure to allocate some part of your monthly card budget to the acquisition and improvement of this great Monster.

Very nice in depth analysis. Haven't spent a thought at to what is the most used ability before. Thank you for that.

Greetings,
Your battle challenge shared important strategic combinations to try on the board.
I got the habit to select Tenyii as often as possible in the fire battle.
Great battling in the arena.
