Silent Sha-vi: The Reason to Watch Your Back

Literally watch your back, in this particular case. Silent Sha-vi is arguably one of the very best common sneak monsters in the game, especially when accompanied by a smart Death set. Before Chaos Legion, I didn’t fancy playing the Death splinters at all. I couldn’t come up with any effective strategy and playing it just didn’t feel right. Yet the times changed and Death have almost instantly become my side of choice.

Odd Ones Out, Mana Cap 19

An epic battle of Life and Death, literally, no odds allowed. You can check it out here. I would have used Cursed Windeku as my favourite Death tank if only the ruleset allowed it. But lets start with the basics. Thaddius Brood is a top notch multi-purpose summoner, an easy choice for most games. Cursed Slimeball isn’t special in any way, I used it to block the very first attack as I didn’t have any real tank in my deck. Palecor Deceiver can avoid some strikes as a rather fast flying monster but it’s lack of attacking skills makes it usually useless – you need your tank to deal at least some damage even if it faces a monster with the Shield ability.

Silent Sha-vi in the third position was my keen card, a nasty Snaeking damage dealer. Soul Strangler is the other of my powerful cards, a cheap but effective archer – 2 damage for only 3 mana is great. The last card, Carrion Shade, was a single purpose one – to block a Sneak attack or two and protect my Soul Strangler. As you can see, the strategy worked great and I achieved a decisive victory.

My rating of Silent Sha-vi

One of my favourite cards. Definitely worth buying and using. It doesn’t have any weakness, at least under the common rules. Usable in most types of games except the 99 mana cap where you can use monsters with higher stats.
