Super Sneak Rexxie ... how does a Rexxie sneak up on you?

This week's Splinterlands battle challenge theme is Rexxie.

I don't often use Rexxie. I like the trample ability though and the high melee attack so sometimes I use Rexxie in melee mayhem or super sneak. I had the Earth Splinter yesterday for my daily quest and came across a perfect battle to use Rexxie. I had selected this team before I knew that Rexxie was the theme for this week's battle challenge.

Rules were Super Sneak and Lost Legendaries

With a 31 mana cap

Super Sneak: Means All melee attack monsters have the sneak ability.
Lost Legendaries: Means legendary monsters may not be used in battle.

Summoner Selection:

I was trying to complete my Earth splinter quest so I had 3 choices of summoners to use. Lyanna for the +1 health, Wizard of Eastwood for -1 opponents armor, or Xander for 1 less mana cost. I went with Lyanna for the +1 health.

Monster Selection

1rst Position: I choose the Unicorn Mustang to act as my tank because it has 3 melee, 11 health, and pretty fast speed at 4. The high health makes a great tank and it also has the void ability which helps with magic attacks.

2nd position: I choose Rexxie for this position because of the 5 melee attack and the trample ability. I was thinking Rexxie would make a great backup tank as well if my Mustang died.

3rd position: I put my Wood Nymph in this position to protect it from attacks from my opponent. I also chose the Wood Nymph for it's tank healing cababilities and magic attack also it has more health than my Khmer Princess which is my other healer.

4th Position:
I choose the furious chicken for this position because I had an open space left in my line-up and the chicken has a melee which will attack the rear of my opponents team during these rules.

5th Position:
I choose the Earth Elemental for this position because it has self heal, I was hoping it would act as a secondary rear tank if my flesh golem died. It also puts more pressure on my opponents front tank because of the 2 ranged attack. I like that the earth elemental also only has a 3 mana cost!

6th Position
I picked the flesh golem as my rear tank because of the self heal ability.

Conclusion:
My strategy worked very well for this battle, as we can see none of my monsters died.

In hindsight I probably should have reversed the order and put flesh golem 5 and earth elemental 6 because flesh golem has a 3 melee and earth elemental has a 2 ranged. I would have prefferred that the earth elemental died first so I could get more damage from the flesh golem, but for this battle it did not matter.

I also learned that Rexxie's trample doesn't work in super sneak if Rexxie is sneaking.😢 I always thought it would trample to the next monster going reverse but it doesn't.

Yes! I like the strategy a lot. I have actually been doing strategy posts for a few months if you ever decide to play check them out.

Oh! I didn't know that about Rexxie either (that it doesn't work if he's sneaking)... interesting... I wonder if that's an 'all the time' thing or if it just didn't happen because of 'luck'....

Anywho... I like having Rexxie in 2nd too, though this only really works for higher mana battles. He's just so fleshy (no shield) so he and his wee little arms needs a bit of protecting.

Finally- that match! It's pretty fun finishing with all dudes left standing...especially when well matched. #nice

I LOVE your strategy posts. I eat them up. Thanks so much for doing them!
